Is Andrew Flintoff a one series wonder?

Flintoff is not a one series wonder...he is right there at the top now..its just that we are so used to an english media that overrates its players, that we are kinda wary accepting it too soon...

heck, graham hick was called "modern day's bradman"...

Dumb English media, you can only be tagged with Bradman if you have a average of 99 or more. There sure isn't any modern day Bradman's around.

Flintoff is a top all-rounder, no doubt.
Ofcourse his form will drop from time-to-time,
but just so soon after the Ashes is a huge suprise, so one would
expect the British media to have a field-day bagging him to some extent.

The result of the first ICC Super Series match can be expected to an extent,
afterall, just like batsmen, bowlers can be found-out aswell, and he was,
just how bad he did wasn't expected, 2 or 3 wickets yeah, but zero wickets...
The Super Series isn't over yet, so JarryD has spoken to soon.

As for Vaughan...with the team England has, they would perform just as
well without him, and I'm sure England could find another South African
to fill his spot in the batting line-up and Trescothick could then be captain.
But this is another story, so.....

Happy cricketing...
Andrew.

I meant that he has the potential to be a one series wonder but i definately dont think that will happen.
How on earth can he become a one series wonder? Do you think that the series before the Ashes didn't happen?

I would take a calculated guess that Flintoffs partying over the last few weeks has something to do with his poor bowling performance, he looked knackered after two overs. What you can normally guarantee against anyone with Flintoff is good line and length and good economy rate even if he doesnt get wickets but he was all over the shop as his overs went on.

Well you called yourself Jarryd, so there must be a reason........
Because others were?

That was so much fun, I have a three page thread about something I say, without even posting in the thread :D :D

No way England could do without Vaughan he is a quality batsman and the best captain in the world currently and Trescothick would do nowhere near as good as Vaughan as captain.

Form is based on more than one match Andrew.

Vaughan adds more to the team than Batting his captaincy is often faultless. KP is a british citizen so he's English, Problem?

We could go into all Australians being European/African descendants if you want?

Yeh... hmm what about Andrew Symonds born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England?? everybody has players who play/have played for their country and are born in other countries.

But Australia would never do a thing like that.

Kepler Wessels (South Africa)
Dav Whatmore (Sri Lanka)
Andrew Symonds
G Alexander (England)
Charles Bannerman (England)
H Carter (England)
WH Cooper (England)
AR Dell (England)
JR Hodges (England)
TK Kendall (England)
PS McDonnell (England)
WE Midwinter (England)
HA Musgrove (England)
BB Cooper (Bangladesh)
RHD Sellers (India)
CV Grimmett (New Zealand)
TU Groube (New Zealand)
Brendon Julian (New Zealand)
TJD Kelly (Ireland)

And at Under 19 level, Neil Maxwell of Fiji, Allan Mullally of England, and Craig White of England.

Nah, they'd never pick a player born elsewhere.

Flintoff is a great all rounder. He is the best in the world at the moment although its too soon to put in the all time greats category. Anyone who can ball at 94 mph and then bat like what he does, is a brilliant player. I will love to see him in action here in pakistan but some of our batsmen/bowlers might not share the same sentiments :)
