Kamran Akmal:The Future of Pakistani WicketKeeping?

Well, maybe Akmal is not 100% fit.
Should keep in mind that he has played every single game since 2005 or something?

Tell me,have you guys ever heard of a wicket keeper with an injury keep wickets ?
The moment a keeper is injured someone takes his place.

In 2003 World Cup,the Ind v Pak match,Rashid Latif was injured and Taufeeq immediately took his place.

The injury is just an excuse, else we should have seen Kamran getting some medical help on the field.

Pakistan have called a new Wicket-Keeper called Sarfaraz Ahmed who in 2006 guided Pakistan Under-19 to win the Under-19 World Cup. He will make mistakes but then again, they should still keep him.

Akmal has been in very poor form recently. If he was in the England team he would not have been given anywhere near as long

Come on guys we need Keepers like him so that ageing oldies like Ganguly can get second chance make some averagre runs to keep there place in side permanent while new talent warm benches.

 it's just like asking dravid to do wicketkeeping, I know India have a "great" dhoni.

Dravid kept because of the theory that an extra batsman instead of specialist wicket keeper (none of the wicket keepers in India could bat at the time) would make up the difference in byes. In theory, yes it would work. Sadly, India's extra batsman never scored any runs and Dravid let through tonnes of byes.

On the contrary, I think Dravid did a great job, and the seventh batsman (Kaif) was very useful. The ploy was brilliant in the 03 world cup. The only problem was that it took it's toll on Dravid who didn't enjoy keeping.

Who will keep in todays match? I think they will ask Younis Khan to keep.

What happened to akmal, he was ontop of the world a few years ago. Brilliant keeping with fast pace scoring. He's fallen quite far. I think he needs to go back to domestic cricket. That drop on ganguly in the last game was horrendous. I only saw the last odi in this series and if he's been like this then i think it would be a good idea for him to be "injured for a long time". His catch on tendulkar reflects his potential ability so if he is dropped im almost 95% sure he'll be back in the squad with guns blazing.
