Warwickshire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Edgebaston
Day 3 - 2nd Session

Fulton reaches his century shortly after the lunchbreak, in 106 balls with 15 fours and 3 sixes.

Just before the score reaches 200, Kent lose their second wicket. Key tries to smash one back over Streak's head but instead the ball ends up in Frost's gloves.

The wicket is certainly more spinner friendly now, and Giles gets the wicket of Fulton as Kent lose two quick wickets.

w3jc8.jpg

Frost takes his third catch to remove Jones for 10.

Henderson and van Jaarsveld steer Kent through until tea with the score at 243/4 and it looks increasingly doubtful that this match will finish any other way than in a draw.

To be honest, it must be getting spinner friendly if Gilo is getting the wicket of a batsman who is on 106:p A draw looks very likely, but perhaps if you can up the run rate, get a decent lead and declare, you never know, they may have a typical EA collapse!:p

Warwickshire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Edgebaston
Day 3 - 3rd Session

With the scores level, Henderson is caught on 14 by Troughton and Dexter replaces him.

van Jaarsveld reaches his half century in 90 balls but has hit only 3 boundaries.

With van Jaarsveld unable to raise his runrate and with an extra bonus point gained, Kent decide to declare just before 5pm on 301 runs.

statsv2de4.jpg

Frost is glad that he doesn't repeat his first innings feat, when he hits Saggers for four with the first ball of Warwickshire's second innings.
Kent still manage to make an early breakthrough though when Saggers gets a c&b to remove Wagh for just 1 run.

At stumps Warwickshire are 14/1 from 10 overs.

Day 4 - 1st Session

Cook gets the second wicket for Kent when Frost offers no shot and is given out leg before wicket for 14.

Thats the only wicket of the session and Warwickshire go in at lunch with the score at 72/2, Trott having hit Saggers for six with the last ball of the session.

Day 4 - 2nd Session

Cook gets his second wicket when he bangs in a short ball and Trott sends it straight to Dexter.

Ian Bell finally reaches his half century as it looks increasingly like Warwickshire are just happy to bat out the remaining time in the match.

Henderson grabs his first wicket to remove Bell shortly afterwards though.

Powell is Joseph's first victim as all three wickets in the session fall in the same manner.

With one session left in the match Warwickshire are 144/5 at tea.

Day 4 - Final Session

Warwickshire move on to 154 before Joseph bowls Brown. Brown's 6 runs had taken him 64 balls.

As the game crawls along to a bore draw, Troughton decides to provide a final bit of entertainment for the crowd and moves to 44 before he is run out in the final over of the match. Warwickshire finish on 212/7.

Kent v Gloucestershire - Natwest Pro40 Division 2 - Canterbury
1st Innings

Kent win the toss for their final Pro40 game of the season and dispite a belter of a wicket give Gloucestershire the chance to bat first.

6th Over

Gloucestershire lose their first wicket in the 6th over when Spearman, who had made virtually all the runs, is caught by Khan for 11.

w1jpg83baac5e.jpg

29th Over

Gloucestershire don't lose their next wicket until the 29th over. Cook gets his first wicket in his 7th over and the decision to bowl out his allocation in one spell looks justified when Harvey skies a slower ball.

w2jpgea1f5694.jpg

31st Over

Cook's final ball gives him his second wicket when he bowls Marshall for 21. Marshall had been at the crease for 97 balls and Kent will have mixed feelings about removing him. Cook finishes his 8 over spell with figures of 8-4-10-2.

w3jpg8fb66a99.jpg

34th Over

Henderson and Joseph are bought back into the attack at the death and Henderson removes Matt Windows cheaply in the 34th over with a caught and bowled. Again a slower ball proves the undoing of a Gloucestershire batsman.

w4jpg54deda4e.jpg

36th Over

Henderson makes it 3 wickets when Ali is caught by van Jaarsveld for 4 in the 36th over.

Gloucestershire complete their innings with the score at 101/5.

Kent v Gloucestershire - Natwest Pro40 Division 2 - Canterbury
2nd Innings

8th Over

Kent are progressing well above the required run rate of 2.55 per over, but Key is trying to push the rate higher and in the 8th over he is caught on just 10 runs.

w1jpg45592c6f.jpg

9th Over

Martin van Jaarsveld replaces Key but he doesn't hang around for long and is caught in the slips for just 3.

w2jpgd54f8c9d.jpg

14th Over

Walker is looking settled at the crease but he throws his wicket away with a lazy shot on 23.

w3jpg334b5793.jpg

16th Over

Denly goes the exact same way and Kent are 71/4.

w4jpgc516983c.jpg

Amazingly Dexter repeats the mistake in the same over and Kent are in a little bit of trouble and fast running out of batsmen.

w5jpgb37f064b.jpg

23rd Over

Stevens is struggling to find form with the bat and is totally outfoxed by the spin of Ali.

w6jpg090693ae.jpg

26th Over

Kent slip into further trouble when they lose Henderson in the 26th over.

w7jpg82f0db40.jpg

28th Over

Cook goes for a duck when he tries a straight drive and edges to the wicketkeeper.

w8jpgf64c1d2a.jpg

29th Over

It looks like Kent might not make the meager total required when Snell takes an amazing reaction catch then O'Brien edges a defensive shot and Kent are reduced to 93/9.

w9jpgbb379843.jpg

Gloucestershire didn't count on Robbie Joseph and the number 10 makes short work of the remaining runs to give Kent a 100% record in the Pro40 league this season (just).
