Most overrated cricketer on the planet...

Agreed Sureshot, he bowls 4 good balls an over, then one of the other two often gets put away, but he looks pretty promising.

ANd for the other Jones i agree that they should keep him in there, but he has to start scoring some real runs. When did he miss a stumping, i think i missed that aswell!

The point is, you can't just drop Jones for Read for a single poor performance and then maybe decide that Read isn't right and pick someone else. That's not selection, that's lottery.
I agree, but that's not what I'm saying. I thought they should have stuck with Read, already an excellent keeper, (who had done nothing wrong in the Caribbean with the gloves prior to his axing). They could have worked on his batting. They chose Jones instead, a better batsman, but then decided they needed to work on his keeping. For me that doesn't make sense. Surely a wicketkeeper's first job is just that, to keep wicket. Sure, Jones is improving with the gloves, but it's not the first poor game he's had (and he has got this habit of diving in front of 1st slip to attempt a catch; fine if he takes it, but he often spills them).

I think the most over-rated batsman's are:

1. Yuvraj

2. Kaif

These so-called "one Day" specialists never seem to score any runs. both of them were big flop in recent ind-pak odi series and that too on their home pitches. india will be better off with players like raina.... specially this yuvraj guy should be dropped asap...... hes good for nothing.

Yeah and especially since this Raina guy has led us to many victories on foreign soil. We have, here, a perfect specimen of the Indian public. Agreed that Yuvraj and Kaif were horrible in the past season... but who really played well in that ODI series? The Indian selectors have done well to pick two new players, and they will definitely get their chance (against West Indies). But the loss against Bangladesh with a more or less second-string team shows us that we still need our original XI to win matches properly.

I can tell you the most UNDER rated cricketer is AB De Villiers from South Africa. He is the next big thing for South Africa !

yuvraj and kaif are correctly rated, who can make you win from 147/5 in 25 overs chasing 326

never drop them

gilly correctly rated

So you would never drop them just because of one performance?

Even if they had 10 consecutives failures?

Overrated .... Ian Bell comes to mind judging him on his England form anyway.
Underrated ... One of my favourite players Mark Ramprakash who is having a decent season.

how can Ian Bell be overrated he's barely been playing cricket 5 minutes.

He has averaged 60+ in the last 3 FC seasons.

Ian Bell is got a seriously problem with the Aussies. From what I saw i've never seen a batsman so clueless. His dismissal to Warne in the 2nd innings was embarassing. I'd actually consider recalling Mark Ramprakash. I think they need an experienced head like him up the order.

kaif reccently got 80 odd vs pak

against zim in 2002 india were 88/5 Kaif then smashed a century

India vs England 3 odis , Eng win 2-1, Kaif 2 50s
test match 50 for kaif (vs Aus)

yuvraj
ind vs ban, last odi 68 from around 30 balls

you don't get such fielders everyday

i never drop them for even 100 consective failures

but who had even 10?

No, no, no...what, and give him his 20th chance? Next you'll be calling for Hick to be recalled ;)
