Most overrated cricketer on the planet...

Well I think Clarke is a little bit over-rated. He's averaging not even over 40 in First Class, and it's like he's the best thing since sliced bread. He's a fine One Day Player, but isn't the best Test batsman. I don't hate Clarke either
Yes thats true, you've even got him in your bloody avatar(I hate that avatar:MAD).

I can't beleive how OVER-RATED Dhoni is! One matchwining inning??( That I have seen so far) He is not better then Akmal who is not better than Sangakara. He isn't a matchwinner..
Sangakarra used to be better than both. But so far dhoni has played a couple of sehwag-esque innings, whereas akmal looks to be the traditional wicket keeper batsman who does his bit. Hoping dhoni can do more than just that.

BTW, dhoni isnt really hyped up much here in india, just this forum.

are you out of your mind? :mad  the man has the most centuries in each form of the game and has 13000 odi runs. get some sense and then come back.

not really. Just out of form, not as good a batsmen as he has been, but he is a fantastic captain the best imo. His average whilst captain is about 35 whilst not being captain is about 55.

vaughan is a terrible batsmen. he played one good series in australia, and against indoa i have been told. but other then that he is terrible. in terms of one day cricket, he shouldnt be in the side, without a century to his name. i also rekon hoggard is over rated, as well as strauss. also, one day kevin pietersen is gonna find himself out of form, and when he does chances are hes gonna bat more aggresively theh usual to try and get inform, and we all knwo thsi doesnt work. i think one day his bubble will burst. and i rekon Katich and Martyn are extremely underated

haha, the king of crap just got out. well bowled lee!

If Sehwag is lucky then I guess some other cricketer in the world has no luck. Sehwag has played such phenomenal cricket for the last 2 seasons that there is definitely something in there apart from luck. :D

As for Vaughan, he isn't that highly rated as a batsman and to bring a team from down in the dumps in both forms of the game to number 2 in the world does take some doing. Although he had at his disposal a crop of young and talented players. And series' against Bangladesh and West Indies.

Martyn and Katich aren't underated, all bowlers give them respext and most cricket fans do, i know i do. big fan of Martyns.

Pietersen is a very good batsmen. He made Warne bowl very defensively by coming around the wicket, how many batsmen have done that. Hoggard will bowl well if it's swinging. His tour to RSA was brilliant. took about 30 wickets and won us our final win. Strauss averages about 50 in Test cricker, not overrated as you can't overrate someone who has played little cricket.

Vaughan hasn't raised the team in some kind of single handed effort. His predecessor did a lot to have them acting like a real cricket team. The team itself is doing the work, Vaughan is leading it, yes, but for the most part, they hardly need convincing of their skills.

You can definitely overrate someone who hasn't played enough--in fact these are the people you most often overrate! Strauss has played 14 matches for his average of 55.12. He has scored 1323 runs: 77 against Bangladesh, 273 against New Zealand, 656 against South Africa and 317 against West Indies. Impressive, no doubt, but not exactly the top tier teams, are they? He is going to find it much harder to score runs against the tough teams like Australia (as he is finding out now).

i agree he is a good batsmen now, but what is he going to do when he is out of form if his natural game is to attack ridiculous amounts??? i think he is going to dig himself a huge hole

I can't ever see him being short of confidence :D Good point sohummisra, but to score 656 in RSA is good. As it's probably the second toughest place to visit after Australia.
