I think it's Yuvraj Singh..because since his 6 sixes in over he become a big star but he haven't played too many good matchs
on't agree with you about Anderson, Broad and Lee either, but this just shocked me. The man has got over 700 test wickets, how is he overrated? He deserves all the praise he gets.Murlidharan - Sri Lanka
I dont think hes answer to Flintoff. Too much hype can make him into Irfan.
Here we go again... :scion_sid said:Bret Lee - Australia
Gibbs is one of the most adaptable batsmen there has ever been. I don't like to use statistics, but he averages 41.95 in Tests and 36.53 in ODIs. That is an extremely good return, South Africa will miss him if he retires. 34 international hundreds is not what you get from an overrated player.gibbs
YK (only scores against india)
jayawardane
Kartick, Ojha, Irfan - India
Kaneria, Butt - Pakistan
Murlidharan - Sri Lanka
Bret Lee - Australia
Anderson, Broad, Mascrenhas - England
Depends on the yardstick. Nowhere near 'good', but within Bangladesh, it is definitely arguable that he is their best ever. Can score hundreds; if he could score more than one a year he'd be getting into the realm of a legitimate batsman. My most overrated player... erm... Mohammad Ashraful. Not as good as people say.
Kartick, Ojha, Irfan - India
That would partly be because it seems that he has been lined up to replace Hayden in the team. Michael Clarke averaged no better when he was called into the ODI squad, a call that has proved to be quite good judgement. In truth, the selectors have probably been dying to call Marsh up since he was a teenager, but he hasn't really converted ability into form until recently.I also think Shuan Marsh is overrated, look at his FC record, people here talk him up like he is the next Hayden.
I think in this case, over-rated is synonymous with inconsistent. Gibbs certainly personifies a flawed brilliance, at his best he can hit six sixes in a row, at his worst, he could get bowled six times in a row (poetic license). Mahela Jayawardene wins a lot of matches off his own bat, but he has been known to drop his wicket for less than he should.Gibbs is one of the most adaptable batsmen there has ever been. Younus doesn't only score against India, that's rubbish. I remember his mountain of runs against England in 2006. He averages 49.14 in Tests, an exceptional figure. Once again, he can't be overrated with an average like that.
The same can be said for Jayawardene, that is, if you mean Mahela.
I'm not sure where you got these ideas from.
for me its
irfan pathan,malinga, and ravi bopara
