Most Overrated Cricketer

Stuart Broad - Why? For me his bowling is not upto scratch facing a world class batsmen he would be mullered. For me he can improve as a subtle change could turn him to world Class.

Kevin Pietersen - A Controversial one but for me he is to Hit or Miss and there is better less rated batsmen out there. Hes a good batsmen but some think he is one of the greatest ever.

Harbhajan Singh - Not as good as people think.

Stuart Broad is certainly overrated as a Test bowler.

Take Australia out, and then judge. Basically, Kevin has been average against the rest of teams apart from Australia. Otherwise, same can be said about Sehwag who consistently scores double century against Australia in Test.
Kevin is just average batman now. Perhaps, that was his day when he massively scored against Australia. But he is no longer looking much better. He struggled big times against Asif.

So take away his performnaces against the best team in the world, leaving him with an average of over 42 and that makes him average? Brian Lara struggled against McGrath. Was he average too?

well it's gotta be Flintoff right now...i mean since the ashes he's been absolutely crap, to put it mildly...i know he has been hampered by injury for the past year but still...since the ashes 2005 he hasn't been the same

His batting has taking a severe nose dive but he's still a world class (yes, actually world class) bowler.

I am not talking about struggling against one team, but Kevin no doubt, has performed well against Australia. and struggled big time against the rest of team.

It can be understandable sometimes Brian Lara can struggle, but he has impressive record against every teams. Failing against one team of them doesn't take his title away :D

tell me which indian rates bhajji as a spinner these days? everyone hates him.

Half the England team is over-rated to be honest. At least by some people. Someone was saying Shah was world class in the England-NZ thread. That's an absurd over-rating.

Ntini - Some commentator said he was still a fast bowler when he only bowls mid-high 130's these days. He did have a good test series of late though.

Tendulkar - This is going to annoy some people. I'm not saying he's over-rated because of his ability, because, well, he has been the best or one of them. Jut when Indian people refer to him as "God" I feel it's going a bit far. I guess only half actually mean it. But still.

Mitchell Johnston - I've always said he was over-rated. He's improved a lot however.

Generally, it's players from Aus/Eng/India who get over-rated. Players from West Indies, NZ, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc hardly get rated highly because they're not "Australia" or "India" etc. Of course, the real good ones do. McCullum, Sangakkara, Yousuf etc.

Tendulkar has scored more then 27,000 runs in international cricket, with:

81 hundreds
138 fifty's
63 not outs

He has maintained batting averages of 55 and 44 in 238 test and 407 ODI innings respectively.

He is in no way over rated.

Yes, but he's a man. He's no god. All he does is play cricket for his country. If anyone should be considered godly it should be soldiers. They are willing to die for their country or doctors, who save lives. It's just silly to call someone who wields willow 'God'. He may be one of the best batsmen ever and I'm not taking anything away from him, but come on, at the end of the day, it's just a sport.

Oh c'mon, its just a nick name sort of thing, no one should really take it seriously...
