NBA Discussion Thread

Probably referring to the three team trade that was being talked about last week. Melo to bulls, Iggy & Gibson to nuggets, and Deng to sixers. No idea if that rumor is still alive.

Still remember watching this one live

Patty Mills doing work for the Blazers this season--an absolute firecracker off the bench. Second Aussie I can recall after Bogut. Anyone else playing in the NBA from down under?

Rockets have pretty much sunk now, they're 16-21 and playing the Celtics tonight. Ended 2010 16-16 but started off 2011 with a bad losing streak.

This Melo trade talk is interesting and heating up again. Supposedly the deal was done last night with the Nets and Pistons before the Nuggets tried to add Harrington to the deal and stalled it. Should be an exciting couple of weeks leading up to the All-Star Weekend and then the trade deadline.

Sean Marks is from NZ. I probably should keep that to myself though really :lol

We're struggling badly without Dirk and Butler, expected though when you're missing 40 odd ppg. Stevenson though, he's surprising everyone in the absence of Butler, he's nearly automatic from three and defending really well.

We need Roddy back ASAP, Barea is just so awful and frustrating!

Are you a Mavs fan?

Mavs are probably my second-favourite team in the West, which is a little weird, I suppose, since my favourite team is Houston. However, before I came to the US for college it was all about the Mavs (and before that it was Adelman's Kings).

Yeah I've been a Mavs fan for 8 or so years but it's really only been the last 3 years that I've followed the NBA closely and learned a lot about the game. I don't really have a second favourite taeam but there's a few that I like to watch play and try to catch as many games as possible like the Knicks and the Clippers this season. I used to like the Nets as well as the Mavs back when Kidd was playing for them but when Kidd went back to Dallas I had no reason to support them.

I suppose I'm just an NBA fan because although I hate the Pistons and the Spurs I would still sit down and watch them play if there were no other games on, for a little while anyway :p

How can anyone like the Mavs? disgusting team and a classless owner.

I wouldn't watch the Pistons and Spurs play for ████. I hate the Spurs. Only team I hate more than the Jazz.

Houston fan are you? Although I don't think you really follow the NBA too much. But yeah, I think I've said how young I was when first started supporting the Mavs so the only reason I begN supporting them was because of Jason Kidd, and he's really the only reason I still support them. When he retires I'll probably find a new team to support because I can't see myself supporting a Kidd-less Mavs, yuck. Maybe I was exaggerating a bit with the Spurs Pistons comment, I would never/could never do that.

I don't actually know many people who follow American sport as much as me, but recently it's just been NBA. It's too much effort to follow American sports as well as things like cricket, Rugby, League etc. That would be like a full time job.

I'm a Kidd fan too. Was an NJ Nets fan back when they were solid with Richard Jefferson, Kenyon Martin, Kerry Kittles, Keith Van Horn and Lucious Harris. I guess you could call me somewhat of a bandwagon fan back in the day. :)

I still keep an eye on the Nets although they are just a shade of what they used to be.

In general I was a fan of undersized PGs. Mike Bibby was another favorite. It was hard not to love that Adelman Kings team. Bibby, Christie, Divac, Webber, Stojakovic. Crazy offense and everyone on that team could shoot the three if required. I guess they were the best example of the Princeton offense in the NBA.

Yea I'm not big on the NBA but I know enough to hate the Mavs. I mostly don't like Mark Cuban and Nowitski.

and yea, it's a bitch for me to follow non-American sports. In fact the only one I follow is cricket. I don't even follow most American sports, just cricket, baseball and college football.
