New Zealand in Bangladesh, October 2010/11

Can't believe we will have to settle for 250, when 270+ was in the card. Thanks to our game plan. Pussy coach. SHakib should've maned up and taken the PP while he was out there. These jokers can't bat.

Over and over and over again, we see this retardedness with batting PP and death overs

Jamie Siddions is a ******/ I bet he is still saying 'just bat out 50 overs'

shuvo needs to get a bit messy now. they're not going to lose 4 wickets in 2-3 overs so it's time to start ploughing stuff over midwicket. 260 was there.

OK, they're probably not going to lose 4 wickets in 2-3 overs.

:laugh

Bennett is bowling pretty well

hopefully Bennett aint the new McKay though who I recall carved up Bangladesh in his first few games and is crap now.

This is not smart batting in the final overs by Bangladesh. They could have been easily above 250 runs.

a good team would have made 280 from that position going into 40.

Mortaza was missed today, he regularly puts on a 20ish score off 15 or so balls at the death, also Naeem Islam isn't too bad as a finisher, where is he today? I think with ryiad and shakib, 2 specialist spinners (razzaq AND shuvo? why?) is overkill.

still, it's a decent score and one that will be no picnic chasing.

Shuvo suppose to be a Naeem version 2. But he turned out to be a Razzak V 2

Naeem can't hit anymore ether. Siddions tired to make him into a proper batsman, and look at him now. You should've seen him bat on 1st ODI. He batted a M-Over at the death...

Same with Riyad, he is also batting weird. He finished the innings for us in through out last year, with SR over 100, scoring few back to back 50s and 4os.

Little harsh, McKay's only played a handful of games so far in his short career. IMO he's rubbish and he'll probably never be international standard but he hasn't really bowled "that" badly.

Bennett is faster though, could quite easily see him top out at 150K in New Zealand. He didn't really bowl that well today (not to begin with however) but he came back well enough. At least he's strung a couple of decent first class seasons in New Zealand, unlike McKay. Reckon Bennett has that something extra about him, he can move the ball both ways so that's always a positive. I reckon that if he works on his gather a little more he'll gain a extra yard of pace too.

Gun innings from Shakib though, just a shame Bangladesh blew the PP yet again. It's a good score but they should of made 270+

I swear Bennett looks like Shane Bond's younger brother.

Btw this is not the 1st time Rahim got run out for being a ball-watching, and (in a way) sacrificed his wicket, and other guy went on to score big runs.. hmmm

150K is going a bit far and have you seen his first class career? average is 37. But certainly a good prospect from what i've seen thus far just hopefully doesn't break down like so many of our quickies do.

Yeah, but he's been playing first class cricket since he was 18. Over the last two years he's taken 30 odd wickets at 27, he's a much improved bowler. 150 wouldn't be stretching it either imo, if McKay can bowl mid 140's in NZ but struggle to hit 140 in Bangladesh (given the heat and what not) you'd think Bennett would be right up there with the pace he was bowling at today.

So, it's pretty much a given now that we'll lose an early wicket, no matter who opens...

That was a pretty good catch! Not as good as some of Bond's caught and bowled, but still very impressive
