New Zealand tour of England - May/June 2015

Someone needs to sit and explain to broad what an 'appeal' means. Needs to careful. Running straight at the batsman once you've hit the pad is setting a dangerous precedent.

It could reasonably be argued that Watling has quietly become the best current Test 'keeper-batsman. The other contenders are Haddin (:aus:), Mushfiq (:ban:), Buttler (:eng:), Sarfraz (:pak:) and Ramdin (:wi:) - the other teams don't really have regular men in that role at present with one thing and another.

Either way, he's done his job with the bat brilliantly in this Test.

Lol ... I think u are forgetting a certain AB De Villiers, who donned the gloves for SA in the last test series they played against WI.

AB > Watling any day. Watling is not bad, but the best with AB around ... I can only say pfff

Not in the least bit forgotten, but he's hardly a regular keeper any more, and has shown no intentions to change that. QDK will be the regular man in that role for about the next decade.

Agreed though that de Villiers is the better cricketer.

No thats why I said that he is the one who kept wickets, in the last test SA played. In fact in the last series, ABD kept wickets in 2 of the 3 tests.

I would thus not to too quick to dismiss him as a part time keeper.

Ab kept cause De Kock was injured... Also for me de Kock < Watling. De Kock has that match winning ability and I dont think Watling looks the guy to score 6000 runs but he is certainly batting well right now.

I think you mean de Kock > Watling

I think you mean de Kock > Watling

You see I was tricking you, just wanted you to think a bit. Not everyday you come across a disguised mind game like that...

Mo!

What a catch. What a last couple of days. Great win. The Summer doesn't look so bad now, eh? ;)

Lets wait for the next match against NZ before getting carried away!

A very good victory today though.

Getting carried away by what? We were told that New Zealand would beat us and after shipping 500+ and being 30/4 we were out of the game (twice!). It's been a brilliant effort by all involved and one that as fans, we should all be very proud of. They've been superb.
