Such a shame it's a 2 match series, it really does deserve four tests at least.
There was a thread asking who were peoples second favourite team, mine has always been the Windies, but I've really warmed to this Kiwi side and will definitely watch their matches in the future.
Yeah Eng NZ series along with SL Ind series are two series I was excited for this year. The reason being both the series will feature even and equal sides, in conditions that tend to favor them, and their bowlers. Usually when a team from the sub-continent plays one from not in the sub-continent, the results tend to be tilted towards one side. However when sides play in conditions which are ideal for to the styles both sides play, then the series tends to be really good.
Just look at Aus, can go win a series in SA like they did last year, but have won just 1 test in Asia in 8 years or something like that. Its ridiculous. England and NZ both feature class seam and swing bowlers, and their batsmen get to bat on pitches they are used to batting on. The conditions were always going to support them, and at times its been a joy to watch the bowling on display, especially on the second day evening this test.
Just like this series, I think Ind SL series will feature sides on the kind of pitches they are used to in SL, and the pitches will favor the spin bowlers. It should be another good contest.
I think with the lead over 400 NZ should coast to a win, but England bat deep and this series has shown more than once that it doesn't liking sticking to the script. However this series did deserve a longer run than just 2 tests.[DOUBLEPOST=1433156371][/DOUBLEPOST]BTW speaking of second fav sides, I think I will go for Ireland. I like the way they play cricket and are always positive and looking to attack.
Having said that, NZ have been really good too.
