New Zealand tour of England - May/June 2015

good start for NZ - Eng really could have done with a wicket or two in that session. I guess NZ will be happier at the moment, but a good spell from one of the bowlers after lunch and it will be back in England's favour

Stokes has looked most likely to get a breakthrough so far. Anderson and Broad really not impressing. Apart from the no-ball and Bell's drop, its been flat from England.

Take nothing away from the two openers though. They've been very watchful and played some good shots.

Yep. Broads batting has gone to shit. Used to be good for a swashbuckling 30. He will lucky if he makes 5.

His bowling hasn't been great either. He's having less and less of those magic spells where he'd get 2/3 quick wickets.

I'd like Woakes to come in for Broad. Not sure Jordan has the consistency for Test Cricket.

NZ have quickly snatched back the initiative in the test match. I felt at 354/7 England were ahead yesterday. However NZ were quick to bowl them in the morning, and with this terrific 100+ opening stand, NZ have definitely got themselves back in the drivers' seat.[DOUBLEPOST=1432302676][/DOUBLEPOST]I have also liked the debutant, Wood, he has charged in and bowled at 90mph+ which is great fora fast bowler. Should have had a debut wicket by now, but I suppose he has only himself to blame. All said and done though, he has impressed with his speed.

Speed is good, yes, but no wickets to show for it. I didn't think his second spell was very good. Definitely one for the future though.

that's an important wicket - was turning into a huge partnership as they were scoring quickly.

need to winkle another out before tea.

shocking from Guptill - mindless given the other wicket just lost.

huge couple of minutes for England. rest of this session crucial.

Really stupid wasn't it? No need to be stretching for runs. All good for England though! Hopefully bring a bit of confidence into the bowling attack now.

good day so far for NZ taylor and kane should carry it.[DOUBLEPOST=1432308018][/DOUBLEPOST]wood looks good and good pace

There's something I like about Mark Wood. We could really do with an accurate 90mph+ bowler. Nice action too. I was gutted for him when it turned out his wicket was a no-ball. Hopefully he will get one properly by the end of the day.

We could do with having them at least 5 down by the end of the day.
