Aus: 2/143

Summary: Australia have done brilliantly to reel in a good portion of the Kiwis lead with some agressive batting. Adam Gilchrist has been at the front of all this, His sparkling innings of 73* from just 56 balls including two sixe's (one hit of the last over along with a 4) has given Australia the strong start they needed...

great knock from gilly. looking at the pitch it looks like it will be dangerous batting on it last so if the kiwis can get a lead you never know

GILCHRIST REACHES HIS HUNDRED

It has been a spectacular innings which even brought the die hard Kiwi fans to their feet. Adam Gilchrist has become the first centurion of the series. This is almost certainly the turning point in a very sparse summer so far. Ricky Ponting will be delighted with the outcome as he promoted the keeper to number three...

A.Gilchrist 104(99)*
D.Martyn 28(51)
Aus: 2/193 (43)

Hey Everyone

Jazz came up with the great Idea of having Him (NZ) V Me (AUS) as a final ODI of this series (4 instead of 3)

I'll start the game and see what happens with the toss. For example, If I win and choose to bowl I'll attach the save game file to a post here and Jazz can play the Kiwi innings. He will present the game in this thread to you. When he finishes the innings he will attach the save game to one of his posts and I will commence the Aussie chase.

Just thought I'd let you guys know and I hope to see your thoughts on this

:cheers for everyone's support

ps: Aus will win :p

I reckon if enough people are interested we should let them choose the teams :)

ASTLE BREAKS THE PARTNERSHIP

The unlikely hero Nathan Astle has finally got the vital wicket. New Zealand would have rathered Gilchrist, anyone can figure that out but the wicket of the quiet Damien Martyn has still given the Kiwis a new sense of hope. Martyn was bowled by an absolute beauty, The ball after pitching on middle moved away and just missed the edge of Marto's bat. Luckily for New Zealand it didn't miss the stumps...

GILCHRIST CAUGHT ON THE BOUNDARY

Adam Gilchrist will be feeling a little annoyed after falling just 9 runs short of his 150. Gilchrist top edged an Oram bouncer and could only watch as the ball fell into the hands of Franklin at fine leg, just centimetres short of the rope. Gilchrist recieved a standing ovation for his effort and can be proud of his achievment. He has given the Aussie's the big innings they needed...

Aus: 4/275 (59)

Summary: Another great performance by the Aussie's. Gilchrist and Hussey towards the later part of the session forced the run rate to a respectable ODI level. With Hussey coming straight into the crease and sweetly timing the ball the Kiwis have to get quick wickets...

PUNTER GOES WITHOUT SCORING

Ricky Ponting may be a little bitter after being caught at second slip for naught after swapping places with Gilchrist. Oram picked up his third wicket of the innings with a fantastic leg cutter which Ponting simply played at. The ball found the outside edge and was for once caught in the slips...

LEE TRAPPED BY MARTIN

Chris Martin has added to Australia's troubles by trapping Brett Lee in front for just 1 run. Lee shuffled across the crease and attempted to flick the ball through the onside but was beaten for pace and hit on his inside pad straight in front of off stump. The Kiwis now have a chance to take a considerable lead into their second innings...

HUSSEY SCORES A VITAL HALF CENTURY

Mike Hussey has provided one of his brilliant innings' to carry the Aussie's within reach of the target. Hussey looked in good form as soon as he came to the crease, he has given no chances away and is definitely in dangerous touch. Hussey went down on one knee and clobbered an Astle slowr ball to the fence to reach his fifty...

S.Warne 1(6)*
A.Gilchrist 141(138)
