New zealand's Tour Of India (Nov 17-Dec 07, 2021)

Shreyas Iyer! Brilliant batting!

Slap on the face of his critics. I guess he understand he is in a position to take off hereafter, especially given the impending 'transition' that the team would go through. Sustained performance like this and he would be in line to bag the captaincy a few years down the road.

To be honest, Shreyas should be part of all 3 playing XI for India. I completely sympathize with Hanuma Vihari and he has not done anything wrong to be dropped but Iyer is a multi format player. In ODI's he is perfectly suited for number 4, in T20's he is a good number 3 or 4 if Kohli continues or not and perfect number 5 in test matches and a good replacement for Jinx if he does not perform well.

Or may be letting Vihari adjust in African conditions, so that he can be part of the squad. You never know
Yep, thats what I said. So this series is not as important as the SA one? Even though we are playing the no.1 test team

Iyer has looked so comfy and smooth since he settled down - as if he has belonged at this level all along. Doesn't look like a debutant

Couldnt resist. Hope this is not a jinx :(

This series could be final nail in the coffin for Saha. Home conditions, consistent run of 3 test matches, if he fails, Pant and KS Bharat as his backup please.

To be honest, just my opinion, but NZ's record in India is nothing to write home about. Rankings are overrated anyway, the same NZ side that won the WTC lost to Aussies 3-0 in Aus.

India at home can afford to rest their seniors. Take rankings nowadays with a pinch of salt. I do love NZ, but a lot of them being No. 1 is because of tests played in NZ.

I was just going to mention this too. KS Bharat deserves a spot in the X1 for the 2nd Test. But, I think it would be fair to give Saha another test too. They do need a backup to Rishabh the keeper in tests.

They lost to Aussies comprehensively too. So, NZ still have their work cut out on overseas tours.

Who would've thought we'd get a fast bowler taking a 5er. Well bowled, Tim Southee :clap. There might be a possibility, that all wickets being taken by fast bowlers this innings.

As for India, it is a little collapse. Although with Ashwin still there, hopefully 350+, he's batting well!

As expected, falling line nine pins after the fall of the 5th wicket.

Saha is finished and he knows that! The nail in the coffin was struck in Australia itself. That said, I am a bit concerned over Rishab Pant and his wild batting (not thinking of the situation). KS Bharat is raring to go and I would be keen on seeing him don the gloves in the next game as we look forth to building a team again.

Honestly NZ should be worrying with this score now. The pitch have looked a little up and down already as far as the bounce is concerned in the morning session. With the Sun baking down the pitch, the spinners are going to trouble NZ. I won't be surprised if we get a 100-run lead if we score 350+.

That wicket of Ashwin from Ajaz Patel showed the ball just getting a little bit of drift.

345 it is. Awaiting for the NZ batting, we'll know how the pitch is exactly now.
