Why announce another tour when you haven't even completed the first one? Don't you think you are getting a bit ahead of yourself? Anyway, a close loss for Australia. They will take a lot from that loss and build on it for the Chappell-Hadlee series.

RP:Yes , we wud had batted first on this pitch but we hav very good bowlers in the team and we wud be happy if we restrict them to below 250....

Brett Lee bowls with the new ball to Lou Vincent......Lou Vincent smashes the 1st two balls of the match for four....Lou Vincent again tries to smash Brett Lee ut is caught by Symonds...Poor Shot by Vincent....Taylor comes in....

Taylor and Papps create a partnership by going against the bowlers especially lee but Taylor is run out due to poor understanding....

Papps carries on but is bowled by a great inswinger by Bracken....NZ in trouble with 51/3....

Syris and Oram tried to staedy the ship but again due to poor running which we dont see often between the kiwis...Styris was run out...Aussie again dominated as NZ were 90/4.......

McCullum came in a very tight situation...but He and Oram played their natural game and stablized the inning by some really superb strokes.......
They both raised their well deserved 50(s) and also brought the 100 run partnership between them.....

But the next ball...Lee got the end of McCullum...just when he looked threatening he was dismissed ...a poor shot by McCullum.....

Bradley scott came in at 190/5....Oram who is in sublime form played his shots....

New Zealand 324 all out.......​

Oram 84 not out faces symonds....Scott and Oram played a very careful innings against the spinner Hogg and Symonds....Oram reached his century with a huge six .....it was one of the best knocks of Oram...the best knock under prssure....But soon Oram departed by going after hogg but was unable to read the wrong on and was caught by Hodge at long on.....the crowd and the Aussie players applauded him as he went back to the pavilon....what an entertaining innings that was.....

Vettori came in....He and Scott when after the bowling...Scott played some really good shots...but he was run out , again due to poor understanding between the 2 batsmen....well played innings came to an end....Scott went for 28....Vettori and Frankin just had 1 thing in the mind ie go after the bowlers...they did that only...both went after Hogg and Bracken....they
made an 46 run partnership....but when the momentum was with NZ the wickets began to fell...Vettori was bowled by Clarke on 32 and Franklin was bowled by Bracken on 22....Bond and Gillespie contributed some 12 runs but Bond was run out.....

At the end a very good total in this 1st ODI.....will NZ defend it?????

Australia had to chase 324 in 50 overs and it was not at all easy against one of the best pace attack in the world.....but Gilchrist played his natural aggressive game and went after each and every ball.....he was a major threat for the kiwis....It took a gr8 inswinging yorker to get rid of Gilchrist...Bond Struck....

Punter walked in....He and hayden went after Gillespie and Bond,....Hayden was the danger man....He played all round the ground ...he dispatch each and every ball for a boundary...he scored 47 in 26 balls.....hitting 5 sixes and 2 fours....

Just when the partnership was looking dangerous Bond struck again...Punter bowled by the outswinger ....93/2 Australia......Hussey walked in ....Hussey went after his first ball and was caught in the deep by Taylor...a poor shot to play....Bond struck 2 in 2 balls...Australia 93/3...Bond was denied his hat-trick by Hodge.....

The partnership between Hodge and Hayden is just building....
