Captain Vettori and Jacob Oram had to do a lot of sensible batting to stabilize the innings...but it didnt happened...Daniel Vettori misread a insinging yorker and was caught leg before wicket by Brett Lee...

Soon Franklin didnt last long...he was bowled by Brett Lee...What an outing Lee was having expensive but he had got 5 wickets....JAcob Oram went after Brett Lee and Hogg ...Oram made a quickfire 40 of 23 balls..but Hogg got better of him ...Oram was bowled while sweeping Hogg...Last hope of the NZ was finished...Bond was acomponied by the last man in Patel...

They both kept playing sensible shots...Bond also played some eyewatching strokes...but at the end Hogg got better of him ...Bond was caught by clarke at mid off....this ended the innings...

New Zealand 203 all out.....

Australia need 204 in 50 overs at 4.10 rpo

Australia came into bat with an easy total to chase....they had plans to finish the game quickly...but NZ had some other plans...Shane Bond got rid of Gilly in the first over itself for a duck...and Australia were 1/1...The next over Franklin got rid of the skipper...Ponting edging a ball to McCullum...Aussie 3/2....Hussey came in a scored 5 runs ..but Bond got better of him..Hussey going for the pull and was caught in the deep by Vettori...Australia in deep trouble with 8/3

Hayden and Symonds now had to play very carefully and had to steady the innings...They did do it..Hayden and Symonds played some eye catching shots has they both steadied the innings..But Franklin got Hayden caught in the covers by Vincent..NZ were in control now. Australia 40/4..There was a small interruption by rain but soon the game was on....

Clarke and Symonds had to stay in the crease...They did it but they played some good shots...Symonds was going after Shane Bond and on the other side Franklin was bowling economically..Soon Patel was introduced and Clarke went after him and scored some 14 runs...Clarke and Symonds bought up the 50 run partnership between them...What and important partnership is this going to be??Aussies in control at the end of 17 overs 96/4

It was going in the right direction for Australia as Symonds and Clarke were playing some sensible cricket...They played some gr8 shot and also rotated the strike....Clarke played a superb cover drive to Patel...just it looked that Aussies were going to win with 6 wickets in hand...but the next ball Patel got better of Clarke..Clarke tried to sweep Patel but was caught LBW...There was some doubt in the umpires mind but he gave the benefit to the bowler..Aussie lose Clarke for 37 and Aussie were 104/5...

Hopes came in ...he had to play one of the most important innings of his career...His job was just to support Symonds at the crease...Symonds on the other hand played really great innings...Bond and Franklin were bought in their last spell t stop Symonds..but it was of no use..Symnds soon reached his well
deserved 50....

Symonds and Hopes were just taking the game away from the New Zealanders...Hopes played some sensible cricket...he patched away the loose balls for boundaries and kept rotating the strike...Symonds and Hopes made a 50 run partnership between them...the lifeline that Aussie needed....

Soon Vettori bought himself into the attack...and the bowling change did work..Hopes lost his concentration and played a loose shot and was caught by Oram at mid on...Vettori broke the partnership...Was this the Twist in the Tale???? Australian Collapse began...Vettori god rid of Hogg...Hogg going for a slog and was caught in the covers by How...Lee to tried to go after Vettori but was caught in the deep by Taylor...NZ were back into the match ...Australia were in trouble again with 179/8...

Symonds was running out of partners as Johnson came in...Symonds adviced Johnson to play some sensible cricket...

At the end of 41 overs Austrlia are 181/8...

Australia need 23 runs in 9 overs at 2.3rpo...with 2 wickets in hand....

ya they can do the aussies if smyo is stike most of the time otherwise if new zealand can keep away symo away from strike the match is there so symo need to keep the strike and win it for aussies
