Pakistan and Australia in the UAE August-September 2012

Good news and bad news for Pakistan Fans. Good news is that Umar Gul and Younus khan are getting dropped. Junaid Khan and Promising quickie, Anwar Ali are going to get a shot for this series.
Now the mega bad news. Kamran butterfingers Akmal is back in ODI Squad. It would be amusing to see him drop Watson in first over of the series. :thumbs

Nah I think it's ALL good news :yes I liked Umar Gul and Younis gettting dropped - sends them a message that they need to keep performing, and it keeps them fresh as the selectors pointed out. As for Kamran Akmal...well in my view Pakistan really needs to decide on a more permanent keeper rather than choosing a different one for each format for each tour as they are currently doing. In my mind, Kamran is the most talented so I think he should get another chance to show what he can do. You never know, maybe his keeping will be brilliant now :D

Has Gul been performing that badly in ODI's to be dropped though?

I have sort of last track of his bowling since he bowled well in series versus England?

Yeah, Umar Gul didn't perform well in the test series against Sri Lanka. He took very few wickets. He's not been in form lately.

Does Pakistan have any very fast bowler against Australia ? I think they don't , if its true that they don't then Shoaib Akhtar should be Paksitan's next bowling coach .

Good to see finally Anwer Ali getting into the squad.Had seen him a few years ago looked very promising.I wish he does well against Aussies.

Didn't see much of Kami lately i hope selector have seen his recent keeping form before giving him another chance

Yes,if Kamran Akmal will open the batting,he can give pakistan an aggressive start.and i hope he has improved his wicket keeping.

Kamran will load six sixes of his first six balls if he's oppening .:p

And will spill the catches in proportion to the no. of runs he scores. If he goes for naught, that will be a perfect for Pakistan while fielding. :lol

:lol poor Kami , congratulations ! Fenil just figured out that why Kamran drop so many catches and give 4 byes , thats because he scores the total runs that he conceds .:p

Seriously : This time Kamran will not dissapiont us .:)

Its not that Kamran is a sluggish keeper only. What bothers me is the fact that he is a cheat. Watch Sydney test for reference.

^Hmm, I'm not sure that it's proper evidence though... I assume you mean this:
That 'cheating' is not really cheating, it's an argument about incompetence. I very much doubt in that 0.2 of a second, he thought - yeah I'm gonna cheat here and NOT take the bails off...There are a few factors that work for Kamran: A) he thought the ball was going to hit the stumps, b) it's debateable whether he would have run out the guy anyway - would have been very close. Yes, the ball was in his gloves before the batsman got in - but it takes a few frames to hit stumps and remove bails, C) he may have assumed the batsman was already in, as he was looking the opposite way - towards Salman the thrower and wouldn't have known precisely where the batsman was when he caught the throw, and D) we should be happy that he caught it!! Hard throw on the half volley with the stumps in the way is one I've seen missed a lot by keepers. Using that vid as evidence of cheating seems a really long bow to draw. Why not talk about Afridi biting the ball?? Now THAT was cheating! Oh wait, it's because everyone loves Afridi and hates Akmal...:noway

After a long long punishment to Kamran , I think that he'll not cheat again , again in his life .

Looking forward for the clash. Two of the best teams..... Havent followed Australian Cricket For the last year or so, unaware of some of the new guys. As far as the T20 Series is Concerned, Nazir can be a threat for Aussies, they should better plan him

Basic instinct of a keeper is to hit the stumps regardless of the batsman in or not.

But he dropped three catches didnt he? Thats what sami ullah is getting at.

Australia team: David Warner (vice-capt), Matthew Wade, Michael Clarke (capt), Mike Hussey, David Hussey, George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, James Pattinson, Xavier Doherty, Dan Christian (12th man).

Decent looking side, might need to push Bailey to 4 as don't know about him and finishing.

Yeah he had a bad game - NO denying that...but dropping catches is not cheating, especially when none of them were particularly easy. Easy when looking at slow motion replays is different than easy on the ground.

Anyway...enough of Kamran. Australia beat Afghanistan this morning :cheers

Clarke and Wade scored 75 each and made sure Australia got off to a good start. THIS is the difference between what happened in England and what SHOULD be happening. Your top 4-5 batters need to get you at least to 35-40 overs. Didn't happen in England at all.

Then Starc and Patto got 4 quick Afghan wickets to cripple their chase. They fought pretty well though in the middle, but ultimately 272 was too much to chase.
