Got to be cut to 14 remember.

Grav says the ones playing Pakistan will be the ones playing in India in October.

So I guess this means that there is no Monty in the Pakistan series? Ridiculous.

Jamie Dalrymple has done very well though, and I hope he can continue his good performances against Pakistan. If Mal Loye isn't in that Twenty20 squad, then I doubt he'll be in the ODI squad either.

Even though Grav says that the same team will play the Natwest Series and the ICC CT, I think it all depends on how England perform in the former. If England do well (highly unlikely given our ODI form), then we could have the exact same team play in India, assuming no injuries ofcourse.

Like Andrew said, Monty has to prove himself in county level ODs before being considered for internationals. A lot different is ODI and test cricket, as Matthew Hoggard will tell you.

I suppose you are right, but Monty should at least be given one ODI against Pakistan before we write him off.

Have are Selectors gone Nuts??!? Not playing Asif in the next game when he's 100% Fit and playing Akthar instead is Stupid!

They must be; Akhtar will be no where near as good as he can be so I find it strange that they have played him instead of Asif.

Did you just realize theyve gone nuts...?

If someone keeps selecting Sami in the test team when you have the option of Yasir Arafat, or even Abdul Razzaq, then its worse than being nuts.

Interesting decision for the One Dayers. Jones was in brilliant form yesterday, so he should keep his place as keeper. We've got too many players who want to take their time though. Dalrymple is fine but at number 6, we need to bat badly for him to be able to do well.

Disagree with you, the keeper should be the same for both forms.

Read was unlucky to be dropped from the ODI game in the first place.

He has 9 List A hundreds I believe.

Nah Monty is too inexperienced in the OD arena for Northants.

And someone mentioned about the selectors worrying about our tail in ODIs too much to play Monty.

Well if the selectors picked the right players.

8-11 could be Chapple, Gough, Harmison and Panesar.

Chapple and Gough are decent batsman.

I like the look of Chapple of 8, but I would like the sight of Loye at number 1 or 2 even more. I think he and Trescothick should open; They should get a try at least. Strauss seemed to do better in ODI's when he first started in the middle order.

Ye Gough even batted at 3 for Essex this season in the twenty20.

Hasn't he batted at 3 in the Pro40 too? It'd be great to see Gough back in the ODI side though; We missed his experience against Sri Lanka.

Gough did bat an 3 against Kent in the C&G trophy at Canterbury earlier in the year, but I rekon it was to make up for his poor bowling performance iirc he went for 30 odd in 2 overs which against Kent isnt great ;)

I'll vote as soon as I find out the Pakistani lineup, because if it is crap my vote will go to England!!!

Maybe he should bat at 3 for England too, a pitch hitter might not be such a bad idea. In fact, it's a terrible idea.

Strauss should be our number 3.

And Usy, if Sami plays then your vote should definitley go towards England. ;)

Not Sami but Faisal Iqbal, even my dad hates him now.
