You're all being very optimistic with Shoaib.

Yes he's a very good bowler, but bowlers need match practice and overs under their belt.

15 odd overs since the India series?

With the 10 overs today going at 5.6 runs an over. Not being able to see the bowling it would seem from those figures that his wicket aws a bit of luck and after that he got exspensive. Although it's always bad to go by figures alone so I couldn't really say.

yes he is, you've said that about 20 times now, is it the shoaib fear :p ;).

I'm glad your playing him to be honest, he'll be mincemeat for Trescothick. You fail to realise that match fitness plays a huge part in performance just like Sureshot said. It's all well and good for him to say that he is fit and ready to play, but he needs overs under his belt. Just look how good McGrath was at Lords in teh Ashes last year, and then look how bad he was after that because of his injuries.

Pakistan v West Indies A Result

West Indies A innings: 214/4 (Simmons 108 not out, DR Smith 55 not out)
Pakistan innings: 123/3 (Imran Farhat 62 not out)

No Result

Good news for pakistan in one way that farhat is in some form, but shoaib struggled against the windies second string. I say we rest Saj/Hoggy for the oval and bring it stuart broad :D

^^^^ look guys look ^^ guys just look ^^^^ andrew post ^^^ look

Imran Farhat 62, now thats what you call a Great batsman.

62 against the Windies reserves? Truly exceptional performance.

If he can score a hundred against England then he will be a decent batsman.

Your Farhat fetish is starting to get a bit annoying.

At least with my GoJo fetish i'll admit that he isn't good enough. I hope Farhat gets another go to be honest, he was a lot better than Tafeeq Umar.

^ hah, ofcorse he is, join the Romi Superman club ;).

I would rest Hoggy not Sajid. Sajid needs more experience for Australia. I think England will do very well if it has three bowlers who can bowl at 90 Mph.
Plus all three are tall and strong, great for bouncy Aussia pitches.

I would pick Saj over Plunkett or Tremlett for the Ashes.

What's going on with Simon Jones?

For Pakistan, Shoaib Malik and Salman Butt seem to be the better among the opener lot. Farhat's a batting and fielding disaster.

We could do with Hoggy getting into some form, although at the Oval it's unlikely.

Unchanged squad for the Oval.

Never change a winning side as the old saying goes. Still, i'd have liked Stuart Broad to get a go at The Oval.

Also, in an interview with Sky Sports news, Shoaib Akhtar has ruled himself out of the fourth Test. He blamed lack of match fitness and that he wouldn't do himself justice.

It's almost as if he has read exactly what i've posted in the last few days.

The Oval would be a batsmans paradise (Tres averages 70-80 here) and I wouldn't want Broad going for 100odd in his first game.

I suppose your right, but i'd rather him debut at The Oval than Brisbane.
