I can't understand why Pakistan are still batting here; They have 300 runs in the bank, and England will be lucky to reach even that after the way they batted in the first innings.

I think this match will end up a draw, unless England plan to collapse again, or Asif has another amazing spell.

I think Pakistan will win, but why on earth are they blocking everything?

Bloody declare!

Have they seen the forecast..might lose half of the remaining 2 days play..

I'd have declared when the lead was 200.

Just wasting time now..even if they decare England will probly go off for bad light

I get a horrible feeling that England are going to collapse tonight, and then get bowled out before lunch tomorrow.

If England are to save this match then they need a solid opening stand similar to the one in Durban.

Tresco gone....no real surprise there, doesn't look like making a run.

Dunno what everyone else thinks but he seems "distracted". Just shuffling about waving his bat at anything outside off-stump.

I'd rather see him get out playing a few shots, rather than tamely surrendering his wicket.

Got to start thinking his place is under some serious threat for the ashes. Might be the "fall-guy" if Freddie returns.

Yeah. I was thinking, too, that with Cook looking in pretty good touch, Tresco may well be ushered out. However, I doubt they'll do it for The Ashes, because experience against the Aussies is a pretty key factor.

Strauss & Cook looking very good. Both looked in good nick in the first inning..

Need one or both of them to make hundreds if Eng are gonna get anything out of this game.

Although its surely asking too much for Cook to make another century, that said both these guys have amzing matches to hundreds ratios (both around 1 in 3 matches !)

They won't go on for long, I hope Rana comes for ODI and 20-20. We really missed him.

Main bowlers:

Shoaib Akhtar, Rana Naved, Muhammad Asif.

Stumps on Day 3.

England 78-1 battling back to Pakistans mammoth 504 in reply to Englands first innings of 173 All Out.

Harmison bowled well today I thought. Too short and wide to Iqbal though as the team. Saj shouldn't be in our first XI in Aus. I'd rather have Tremlett in his place or maybe even Broad.

Well done Pakistan by far the better of the two teams.

Not quite the accuracy by Asif in the 2nd innings as in the 1st but well bowled nonetheless.

Drop Englands best batsman over the last 5 years? Nah.

He also scored 431 runs in the Ashes last year iirc.

I agree with everything you've just said. Harmison bowled great today, but it isn't enough to erase the memories of his awful performance on Thursday and yesterday. Mahmood definitley shouldn't be in the side at the moment, although he has enough potential to be a good player in the future, and youth is his advantage. Hoggard was our best bowler by far in this innings, but once again, fortune desserted him. As for tomorrow, Cook and Strauss need to take us to 250 at least, and we need two more partnerships of 100+ to have any chance of a draw.

It would be criminal to drop Tres, we stuck with Strauss throughout his poor form and look how much that has paid off.

From what I saw of the game, I feel Hoggard bowled far better than Harmison and definitely deserved more than Harmison's 4 wickets.

Absolutley, Hoggard bowled better than he has done all series.
