That's nothing new for Akram. He played for Pakistan, remember? :p

Well their catching has been spot on in this Test. The less said about Lords, Old Trafford and Headingley the better though.

Actually our fielding was arguably at its worst through the nineties when Wasim and Waqar were in top form. This is why even Akram has said that he'd probably have a lot more wickets had Pakistan held on to their catches.

That's probably true, McGrath had Mark Waugh in the slips when he was in his prime. McGrath has always had great catchers and fielders to hold on to any chances throughout his career.

But what the hell am I talking about Glenn McGrath for?

Pakistan do seem to have a few cricketers who aren't athletes though; Yousef, Kaneria and Inzamam don't look like natural athletes to me.

Monty Paenasar doesnt seem to be what you would call a natural athlete either :p

but who am i to talk? We had Arjuna Ranatunga! :hpraise

another great day for pakistan. i have to say people like to see batsmen who play explosive shots quick fire 50's and 100's (me for one) but when i saw mohammed yousuf in the first test i just loved his double century it was great beautifull classy innings and today as well such a great innings

Have you ever noticed, that you have 2 choices when you retire from Cricket in Pakistan? Either you become a coach of some sort, or you go into Politics :p.. I wonder what Inzi would do :D

Anyways, Shame on Hafeez for not getting his 100, but still a great innings from a player that has just been called upon.

Yousuf should be in 10 Greatest Asian Players of all time if not world.

Great batting from Pakistan. Hafeez looked like the best opener by a mile. Good to see Farhat put in a good contirbution and Yousef was fantastic.

The bowling was crappy. Harmison was inconsistant. Just when he looks like hes getting back to his best be bowls terribly. Mahmood about the same things can be said for him.

Monty has been pretty ineffective so far. Nothing in the pitch for him. That shot Hafeez played for six was a beauty.

^ hey although I though Hoggy was good, just the droped catches.

I am tempted to make a list of 10 Greatest Asian Players of all time.
Here we go:
1. Imran Khan
2. Sunil Gavaskar
3. Sachin Tendulkar
4. Wasim Akram
5. Kapil Dev
6. Inzi
7. Sanath Jaysuriya
8. Arjuna Ranatunga
9. Anil Kumble
10. Murali

Other contenders include Javed Mianadad, Zaheer Abbas, Gundappa Vishwanath, Vaas, Mohd. Yousuf, Waqar Younis, Rahul Dravid, and Bishen Singh Bedi.

I'd swap Ranatunga with either Dravid or Younis.

For some reason Harmison still thinks that this pitch is Old Trafford. How many bouncers did Pakistan bowl? Almost none; I think all of their wickets were full balls, so why on earth are we trying to kill them with short balls?

According to Michael Holding, Harmy has been bad throughout the series. He got lucky at Old Trafford where the pitch suited him really well.

Things don't look good for English bowlers from an Ashes perspective.

I don't think he was lucky at Old Trafford, he was just the best bowler for the conditions.

And it's common knowledge that our bowlers are looking terrible ahead of the The Ashes.

I think Collingwood needs to be dropped for Flintoff. His bowling is poor and Bell is a better batsman. Its harsh as he has a good record and has played very well.
