In a chat with evertonfan on MSN, he said, but what if Hair did see something? I replied with the fact that he should have told the public that in a statement at tea.

This is completely different to the South Africa situation, south africa left Sri Lanka on safety grounds.

But that is defeating the whole point of the protest. The protest is to show that there is not an agreement with the decision. How would it have been different if the protest was tomorrow? It is clear that the Pakistan team and everyone involved with them takes this event very seriously.
As I said earlier there are channels open for protesting. This is not one of them. I hope Pakistan are prepared for the consequenses of this. It doesnt matter a jot if the ball was tampered with or not. To protest like this is not acceptable.

It happined way behind, i think 90's when england swing the ball they didn't say anything, then when wasim done it they called us cheats, it's a long history of that. Racism (not by english players) but by the umpires.

Well i am definately watching the highlights on Channel5 tonight.. will probly have 10 million viewers tonight

also is anyone gonna turn up tomorrow??

When England's batsmen, Bell and Collingwood, and the umpires took the field, the umpires removed the bails. It appears that the umpires have therefore signalled the end of the match, and Pakistan's forfeit.

I think the worst thing about the protest, was that Kamran Akmal was sent from the changing room when the umpires were on the field, and sat there reading a paper! Although I do see why Pakistan are protesting and agree to an extent

Well some revisionism by the PCB chair. He is claiming that the team were making a protest lasting a few minutes when they still refused to take the field after 45.

That is your opinion. It is my opinion that when an accusation of this magnitude is made against your team/country, you have every right to complain and get noticed. We are obviously not in the players shoes so we don't know how they feel, but I am very confident that if India was in Pakistan's situation, I would wholeheartedly support their decision to stay off the field.

Seriously Usy, calm down. The job of umpiring is an incredibly difficult one, its situations like this when they get completely blamed. Like, they make a good LBW decision, and the fans of the team it goes against completely lambast the umpire. Of course, I'm not saying that they are completely right in what they've done this evening, I have no idea whether they are right to do what they have been doing. None of us do.

It was funny how Akmal opened that paper right on page 3! ;)

I feel sorry for all the fans, but credit to the ones who have stayed hoping for some action. It's a lost cause though i'm afraid.

Hey embi you guys would know if someone did this to you're team, as Pakistani Chairman said we have noting against england team or ECB, it's just crap umpiring!

PAKISTAN!

I've certainly got no problem with Pakistan making a protest against the decision but I feel it might have been more effective to do it a/ at the time or b/ through a statement at the close of play.
However I fully agree that you have to defend your honour if a baseless allegation of cheating is made. It seems strange that Sky cameras haven't picked anything up from 20 positions in the 18 minute window they reckoned it happened in.

I agree usy, if England were accused of this we would have taken action, but the way the umpires are now refusing to come out is ridiculous and farcical.

Darrell Hair will please all Pakistan fans tomorrow and resign IMO.

look we were ready to come out, why would we cheat? we were in a state of winning anyway, this is so stupid crap sh!t umpires.
