That's a very valid point; England are doing enough chopping and changing at the moment, and they can do without losing an experienced wicket-keeper.

It's not as though Read is inexperienced though at international level.

I thought Iqbal might've been their tour back up keeper, oh well.

Geraint Jones as said before will get in and then get out.

He has lacked any composure in an innings despite 2 (Hundred and 50 vs Aus in ODI's) knocks.

The selectors won't change it though, they should but they also should have had some experience in the ODIs, but did they? Even though it was on offer.

595-9 Declared

Read 150*
Broad 54*

:D

Bresnan and Broad opening the attack.

Hoggard has picked up a hand injury after being trodden on by Bresnan in warm up this morning.

Bresnan isn#t having the best of starts with his country, not the best in the one day series and then injuring our key bowler :(

He has bowled out Farhat though :D With figures of 12-4-44-1

Pakistanis 116/1 (32.1 ov)
Pakistanis trail by 479 runs with 9 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

You're new aren't you? :p

Posts containing updates on scores and nothing else are considered spam by the mods, since we can all get our scores on other sites.

Yousuf gone for duck. Hopefully Inzamam will make a good score so I can breath easy.

Mohammad Yousuf is in my opinion one of the most dangerous and gritty players in the Pakistan team. Getting him out cheaply like that will be a major boost!

Feel slightly better now seeing our A team do well. But then wouldnt take much from it as If I remember currently the same Sri Lanka than beat us 5-0, actually lost to our A team.

Read has definately staked his claim for a place in the England side.

Read and Dalrymple have nudged the selectors with there performances. I would like to see Read in the team for sure. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Dalrymple become the lone spinner in our team if he carries on how he is at the moment. The perfect deputy for Giles

No way! Panesar has to play! If Dalrymple plays, then he should take Flintoff's place for the first test, and maybe Cook/Strauss for the second test.
Strauss' recent performances are 'out of form' personified.

Also to further elaborate on the keepr debate; If GoJo doesn't get a 100 this series then even I, the most devoted of GoJo fans, would want Read in the side.

My team for the First Test vs Pakistan

Marcus Trescothick
Alastair Cook
Rob Key
Andrew Strauss
Kevin Pietersen
Jamie Dalrymple
Chris Read
Liam Plunkett
Sajid Mahmood
Steve Harmison
Monty Panesar

On these forums I've been a very big fan of GoJo but after hearing Chris Read's 150*. He deserves a go. Dalrymple has performed excellently in the England A game and in the one dayers. We could now use Dalrymple and Panesar in tandem.
