Looks like a draw is looming. It jst seems the most likly end to the match now. England struggled to bowl Pakistan out in this case. I feel they defended a bit too much defending a large total. But who knows.

Great innings from Yousuf.

all 3 results are possible right now..the pitch will deteriorate on day 4 and 5, making it good for bowlers...so u never know..

Yes all 3 results are still possible. The chances are 35% Eng win, 25% Pak win and 40% draw. Whatever the result, day 4 will definitely be an exciting days of cricket with Afridi in and Yousuf in at the crease. England need to obtain a minimum 30 or 40 run lead. One advantage that they have is that Pak only have a depleted bowling attack and I don't see them bowling England out unless if Kaneria and Razzaq bowl extremely well.

I`d fancy a Pakistan win in this game.
Kaneria should get some hel from the wicket and Gul,Sami looked o.k in the 1st innings.
They must hold on to their catches.
The key or me is Afridi . Iam excited to see how he bats.
I hope he stays on for an hour or two and you know what it would mean !

A lead of 30-40 runs for Pakistan would mean that England have no chances of winning and only Pakistan can force a result.

Remember, how England messed up the Mohali test(rain had washed 2 days).
India had squeezed a 35 run lead with 4 sessions to go and England got bowled out within 2 sessions by munaf Patel and Kumble.
And that was a good batting track as well

There is still hope for Pakistan

It all rests on BOOM BOOM AFRIDI !!!

Well Boom Boom Afridi didnt last very long.

EDIT: Umar Gul last's two balls, Bowled Hoggard caught Jones, will Yousuf make his double 100 ?

Afridi gone! :(

He got hit on the thumb nastily by Harmison and seemed in real discomfort. I hope it is not serious. He ended up skying one soon after.

All over, England still on top but Pakistan have done well. They can still win or draw.

Jones got a 5-for!!!

Yousuf gone, amazing innings, defying england and probably saving the game unless we bat and bowl extremely well. Good to see harmy back on form with 4-94, even though he bowled badly. If he can sort his action out he might return to his form of 2004.

Tresco gone! Possibly a bit of uneven bounce did for him there; worrying signs for all batsmen if that's the case.

I'm backing either a draw or a Pakistan win here, because Pakistan bat a long way down, whereas we practically stop after number 6.

Look, KP isn't going to help England solve their spin problems. He is a part time, no matter how much he turns it, and doesn't have a lot of control. Giles is better than KP because he is accurate and knows how to bowl (somewhat :p)

Giles and Accurate?

Like his one wide ball an over that the batsman cut for 4?

Knows how to bowl?

Let's not forget the occasional long hop which gets pulled away too. It's just wide half volleys that he sends down.

For a bowler who is meant to tie up an end and dry up the runs; he isn't very accurate.

Monty is far more accurate and has proven so in his few games so far, by the fact he had (before this test) a lower test average yet a higher stike rate.

Strauss is off to another good start here, but he has had starts in almost all of the tests this summer; he needs a 100 here. Pietseren needs a quickfire 50 to up the rate a little. Collingwood is almost certain to get some runs, and maybe Jones will finally show why he's in the squad. Or maybe not. It's crucial that Pakistan get Pietersen out early, or else he will take the game away from them.

135-2

Good going by England, Strauss inpartciular.

Bat the whole day and IF it goes well and we have 400 run lead bowl half an hour at them tonight.

Yep, England need a lead of at least 400 before they put Pakistan in to bat tomorrow. Anything less and Pakistan still have a chance of winning this game. Gonna be a draw though, I reckon.
