Nice start from the openers here but Kamran Akmal really is having a nightmare in this series. No wonder the bowlers are lacking in confidence.

Sami has bowled brilliantly today, his figures dont show it, but if ur watching u would know what im talking about...

akmal probably ended sami's career today with those dropped chances

Sami ended his own career by bowlig abysmally for the whole tour. One spell of half-decency can't reverse that.

Woah! Mate I wasn't having a go at Panesar, he bowled superbly. Drewska asked why he went around the wicket and I joked that he was bowling like Giles to impress Fletch.

Monty Panesar is an absolute gem and I was delighted when he took that catch.

I wasn't having a go, make it clearer when you're making a joke though :p

Woah, Remember at the Oval you'll be facing a whole different Pakistani Bowling Attack, with Akthar, and Asif.

Shoaib only started bowling this week, I don't think Woolmer wants to risk Shoaib and anyway if he does play he'll have had 10 overs under his belt, not enough for Test cricket.

I've never seen Asif play so I can't comment.
Describe the type of bowler he is to me.

well with Pakistani team it really can...if he somehow picks up 3-4 wkts, he will probably be playing last test and more after that.

I'll try; I don't often make jokes because they are so poor!:p

118-0 and both openers look solid. This pitch still looks placid too.

Hm, 118-0 95 runs lead...
If Pietersen, Bell, Cook play their regular we are finished! :p
LoL! I got my 1992 PAKISTAN SHIRT today really cool! :D
The sad part is that I was supposed to sit in the stand on Day 4 to watch this game, had planned it for almost a year but the last month my cousin in Leeds said he couldn't!
Really big blow since I have never seen an International match before! :(

If that's the case then the selectors are stupid. He averages over 40 in Test cricket for heaven's sake!

How come everyone at PC has such an accurage gage of Akhtar's fitness? Did I miss a memo that he posted here?

He has played one game in the Birmingham 3rd division.

He would be very low on match fitness.

Talking of selection for The Oval is a tough one, it'll be a good batting track, with good bounce and pace.

So do we stick with Saj? Or Maybe go for someone who could utilise the conditions, like Tremlett?

But then our tail is even longer and Fletch doesn't like that.

Tough choice.

Final over of the morning from Danish who has got a bit of spin, but slow spin.

Our session so far.

Tres and Strauss are so good at the top, maybe our time since the Ashes has been poor as today is the first time we have had a opening partnership of over a 100 since Trent Bridge last year.

I've been saying he won't be match fit for ages, but many people seem to be of the belief that he will be back at The Oval and bowling at over 90mph and blowing England away.

Asif looks to be a skiddy bowler to me from what i've seen of him.

Mohammad Asif is really kwoliti and it is sad we are missing him!
He started with a wicketless debut against the Aussies 2 years ago. He came back and won us the 3rd test match against India where he got rid of many Indian big guns including bowling Tendulkar so he had to fall on his knees. Some really good balls. Great in & outswing.
And he was one of the few for Pakistan bowling very good with the newball as the Rest of Pakistan got smacked by the Indian batting! :(
And after that against Sri Lanka he got his first 10 wicket haul taking 5 wickets in each innings. Having some really really good swining shots to Sangakarra & Jayawardene which they left a wide ball and it swung and bowled them. He bowled well in the One-Days & he played for Leicestersheire where he got a handfull of wickets this year! :)
Only 21 years old a really big talent.
Search google video, youtube & putfile for him and you will understand! :D
