Pakistan in Sri Lanka

Thank god, rain saved us from complete humiliation, a fifth consecutive thrashing in OD would have been too much to bear.

I don't think this Pak team is good enough to beat the Lankans.I expect them to lose both the OD series and the Test matches.

It's the game of cricket, a team wins other looses so the word "humiliation" would not be nice to use, especially here, as we all know that Pakistani team is going a bad time anyway after the India ODI series loss.

Well they certainly are good enough to beat Sri Lanka, we still have 2 ODI's to go, and remember test's are completly diffrent from ODI's.

Your "Expecting" this? So you think that they should lose...

*Frist Thanks God for saving us... then expects to loose...*

Just Out of Line ^.

Well im sure the Pakistani team and their fans counting their lucky stars after the game was washed out.

Funny how not many people gave Sri Lanka a chance at all to win the ODI's, and they achieved a good first innings with out their two front line pace bowlers.

having said that, Pakistan is a good enough team to bounce back, I'm sure they will come out fighting, But I'm sure that Sri Lanka will be up to the task.

Inshallah, Pakistan will be bounce back after the ODI series reversal against India! They are a very competitive team. They had their moments against India! It was just that India were too good for them in the ODI's. Sri Lanka are not as good as India (they were thumped 6-1). So I expect a keen contest!

Sri Lankans are home tigers! Once you know how to beat them in their own backyard, thats it! They become flat! I just was surprised how they managed to get to No.2 in the ODI rankings long back (before India put them in their rightful place)

I'm posting a letter to the editor pubished on "the News", Pak leading newspaper.

Let's face facts

It is a glaring fact that the present Pakistan cricket team is the weakest outfit on the international circuit as far as fitness, fielding and running between the wickets goes.

The PCB chief and our coach Bob Woolmer should not fool the nation any more and frankly declare that the Pakistan cricket team will merely participate in the 2007 World Cup to gain experience. This way they will not raise the expectations of millions of our cricket fans unnecessarily.

What's wrong with that? i hate to see Pak lose but the way they are playing these days one can't be blamed for having low expectations from the team!!!

Let me ask you a question.. Why are you so pissed off at the team? Is it because they lost ot India 4-1? and Why don't you ytink Positive, Pakistan are more united then ever.. That is partly because of Woolmer.

I think you will find most ppl pissed off at Pak team, this is not just coz they lost 4-1 to India but the manner in which they lost those matches, it looked to me that they were simply going through the motion.

Woolmer may have done some good work, but he has still not figure out the openers for the team.On top he keep sending Younis down the order when an inform batsmen should bat up the order.

If Pak lose this series then knives will be out for woolmer and Inzi!!

Well, Did you know Shoaib Maliks average when he comes at number 3 is 47.35 which currently is the 4th best when it comes to one downs, and that in the last 40 games he has averaged more than any other batsman. Bad luck does happen to every team, every team goes though this phase... But don't forget how Pakistan won that last test match, all of you guys were happy then, learn to lose, only then you can learn to win!

Talking about Woolmer, he has improved our team a hell of a lot! Its not his choice who is on the team, he has to work with peole who are selected by Bari. If you go back to when Miandad was coach you would see that our fielders were scared to dive, now that has changed..

Test matches has nothing to do with OD, like for instance Malik wouldn't even find a place in Test team.

The fact that Pak opening batsmen has been struggling has nothing to do with "bad luck", its purely coz of bad cricket and bad planning.Akmal is not the right choice for opening, he may have scored ton while opening but i think Younis khan would be better off opening the innings then comming at number 6 slot.

Younis khan is a nervous starter, If you want an Opener soo badly, why don't you get a "Professional" Opener, like Hameed, Farhat, or even Nazir!

First off all Pak can only pick one specialist opener in the OD team, otherwise they will be a bowler short, thats why we see Afridi, Akmal and sometimes Malik opening for Pak.If Farhat opens with Butt, then Pak will end up playing 6 batsmen and just 2 specialist bowler, which will be a disaster.

Younis Khan bats at one down in test matches and has the proper technique to face the new bowl, thats why pundit like Imran Khan,Sohail,Manjerekar and Raja has been asking for Younis to bat up the order.

As Imran Said, "its easier to avoid a diaster then to handle it". Inzi seems to be doing the latter, he waits till the team is in trouble then tries to handle it.

ROFL! are you serious?? Sri Lanka deservered to be at N0:2 spot as they were a consistant team back then. Obviosuly since loosing to India 6-1 things have gone down hill, but I reckon they could have beaten any team at that time.

They are slowly getting things back together and it was shown in the VB series. I can't remember the last time Pakistan got a VB final and took it to a 3 games final series or been at No:2 on the ODI list.

If you think Sri Lanka going to roll over let Pakistan win, it aint going to happen. As you saw Pakistan was almost humiliated in the last game, and that's with out Vass and Perera in the line-up! :p

Not a Stupid person would ask that question, "Whats wrong with that", you should have asked 'Whats not wrong with that".

It clearly seems that you have been upset of somthing, or you really are pissed off becasuse of somthing as Pak_Cricketer said.

Why do you criticize the Pakistani team all the time, some so called "Newspaper reports" that i don't really give f**K to ?

You support Pakistani Cricket team and hope them to loose, that is just wrong, no team supporter would do that, you eather are not a Pakistani, or one of those who thinks to criticize rather then thinking positive.
