The African Drumming could be heard all day long. Different Beats everytime. Really something you could dance off too. But the hometown people will show us the real way to dance later on.

It was time for the speeches as the teams made their way in. It is loud here! People are dancing and clapping away as their favorite team make their way into the ground. Tons of banners being held of individual players, or teams.

It was time for them to show us the dances. The crowd loved the unique dances that the performers put on in front of them.

It was time for the grand ending. Everyones favorite! The Fireworks! Huge crackers were fired into the air as the sky was extremely colourful.

That was the end to our eventful Ceremony. We hope you enjoy the rest of the world cup with us.

I like the use of the animation, but why is it such a poor quality? Other than that good start :)

There will be high expectations among the fans of the host nation that South Africa could win the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup.

Captain Graeme Smith leads a strong and talented side looking to overcome their semi-final loss in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 to eventual winners Australia. The two veterans Smith and Kallis lead the way in the Caribbean with the batting.Whilst Andrew Hall and Charl Langeveldt shone with the ball.

In the Twenty20 World Cup the hosts face a challenging group including the West Indies and Bangladesh. This is the perfect chance for Smith's side to take revenge on their 67-run loss to Bangladesh in The ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. Also the South Africans have the most experience in International 20-20 matches.

Suprise Pick
Johan van der Wath

van der Wath had been selected in the 15 man squad after playing for Northamptonshire alongside fellow team-mate Lance Klusenar earlier this Summer. He is a strong striker of the ball and can also take pace off the ball with his canny medium-pace bowling.

West Indies

Shivnarine Chanderpaul,

Chris Gayle,
Runako Morton,
Daren Powell,

Ravi Rampaul,
Darren Sammy,
Marlon Samuels,
Devon Smith,
Dwayne Smith,
Jerome Taylor

The hosts didn't live up to their expectations in The ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. They will be looking to rediscover form in the Twenty20 World Cup.

But the West Indians will need to be at the top of their game if they wish to suceed in the tournament particularly as they are paired with a strong group and no minnows are included. The West Indians will have to be aware that Bangladesh are no minnows, they have shown that at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 by defeating India and South Africa.Having won their opening game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 against Pakistan they put on a dissapointing performance in the Super Eights.

The West Indies will look for Chris Gayle to rediscover some form after a poor World Cup in the Caribbean. And with the retirement of Brian Lara, pressure will be among Chanderpaul, Samuels and Sarwan to deliver with the bat.

Suprise Pick
Keiron Pollard

After he shone with the ball and hit with the bat in the Stanford 20-20 Cup, Kieron Pollard has earned the right to be a part of the 15 man squad. As he is 6ft+ he will be able to create bounce on the South African wickets aswell as big hitting is concerned with the bat.

Bangladesh

Farhad Reza,
Nazmus Sadat

The young, talented Bangladeshi side shone on the World stage at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 with victories over India and South Africa and proving they are no easy team to beat. But it will face one of the toughest groups in the tournament including the hosts South Africa and the West Indies.

Captain Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal shone in their wins over India and South Africa. Bangladesh have spin options and Mashrafe Mortaza undoubtably will cause problems for the best batsmen.

There is no doubt that there is inexperience in this form of the game for them, this is a learning curve for them but after shock victories in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, this Bangladesh team will be a close one to watch
.

Suprise Pick
Tushar Imran

After being playing for the Bangladesh A team for a long period of time, he finally gets a call up to play for the Bangladesh Senior team. A intriguing prospect capable of opening the batting or going in the middle-order, he has shown he can bat with 4 50's to his name.

Always constructive statements are better.. " It could be improved in so and so way " is better than mentioning " Poor quality ". He is trying his level best.. and moreover, as long as the storyline is good, the quality of stories always remain at the top. And Trev, this is the second time you are referring " Poor quality" to stories.. Please prevent that in future.

PC, amazing start with this Twenty20 championship.. Detailed reviews. I would have loved to see Zulu though :p Keep up the terrific works:cool:

The Australians will be looking to add another trophy to their cabinet when they compete in the Twenty20 World Cup.

Having performed outstandingly in the Caribbean, they didn't lose a single game on their way to their third consecutive Cricket World Cup title. They will be the team to beat.

Despite the retirement of Glenn McGrath and Matthew Hayden resting, there is plenty of batting and bowling firepower left in the team. With a batting order including Gilchrist, Ponting, Hussey, Clarke, Symonds,White, there is no shortage of big-hitters. And also to back the batting up they have the likes of Bracken, Tait and Hogg who all had great tours to the Caribbean.

After a dissapointing Cricket World Cup campaign, England will be looking to bounce back in South Africa in the Twenty20 World Cup.

But Peter Moores' side will have to overcome old Ashes rivalies Australia and a young Zimbabwean side if they are to progress into the later stages of the tournament. England will look for Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen, two 20-20 specialists for inspiration. Also the inclusion of the winning Twenty20 Cup Captain Robert Key will be looked for.

Whilst with the ball they have Nayan Doshi who is the first 20-20 player in the World to take 50 wickets. They will look for their seamers to be more consistent.

Suprise Pick
Nayan Doshi

Zimbabwe faces a tough test if it wishes to improve on the results of recent ICC events.

It will have to overcome Australia and England if it has to progress into the second stage of the competition.

Zimbabwe will look for inspiration from Stuart Matsikinyeri whose 70* nearly won them the game against Ireland.

The excellent all-round talents of New Zealand with bat, ball and in the field will make the Kiwis one of the favourites of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup. New Zealand have never won the Cricket World Cup always bailing out in the semi-finals. It will be expected that the Kiwis will feature in the latter stages of the event.

At the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 Scott Styris shone with the bat, while Daniel Vettori and Shane Bond took 29 wickets between them. New Zealand will be looking for their experienced players to contribute.

In a tough group with Kenya and Sri Lanka at the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2007, the Kiwis will try and use all their experience of International 20-20 matches to help them progress.

Mahela Jayawardene's men will be looking to go one step further than at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 and clinch the Twenty20 title.

Some excellent performances in the Caribbean notably from Sanath Jayasuriya with bat, while Muralitharan and Malinga's amazing 4-in-4 helped them to get to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 Final where they lost to eventual winners Australia.

In a group with New Zealand and Kenya at the ICC World Twenty20 2007,their passage to the Super Eights will not be straightforward.

Kenya will be hoping to repeat it's sucess of the last time they came to South Africa where they reached the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 semi-finals.

Some fantastic cricket from the Kenyans saw them record a famous 53 run victory over Sri Lanka before their dream came to an end against India. Solid performances at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 saw Kenay record a seven- wicket victory over Canada and also putting on respectable displays against England and New Zealand will provide Tikolo's side with some confidence, despite their lack of experience in Twenty20 Cricket. The veteran Tikolo, who became the first Kenyan to score 2,000 ODI runs will be a key player for his side. He showed this by his valuable half-centuries against Canada and England at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.

New Zealand will again provide opposition for Kenya after the Kiwis enjoyed a 148-run victory against the Kenyans at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, while Sri Lanka make up the third team in Group C.
