The eyes of all Indian fans will be on the Indian team efforts in South Africa as they hope to restore pride after a dissapointing Cricket World Cup 2007 in the Caribbean.

A sole win over Bermuda was all India had to show after defeats to both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka which inevetubly dumped them out of the World Cup in the opening stages.

However there is no doubting the side's ability with the ball and the bat, although it will need to find early form in the ICC World Twenty20 with the draw putting the Indians against arch rivals Pakistan. The team will be lead by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Surprise Pick
Ishant Sharma

Nicknamed 'Lambu' (The Tall One') by team-mates, he was first noticed last season, when his ability to extract steep bounce with a high arm action caused a lot of problems. Still only 18 and India hope he is their version of Glenn McGrath

The tragic death of Bob Woolmer will still be in the memory when the team travels to it's former coach's country of residence for the ICC World Twenty20.

Facing a group games against traditional rivals India should be one of the ighlights of the group stages and Scotland, the priority for Pakistan to progress to the next round is vital. Without former captain Inzamam-Ul-Haq, who retired from ODI's at the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, the team will be looking to rely on the likes of captain Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan and Imran Nazir, whose stunning 160 against Zimbabwe was the highest individual score in the Cricket World Cup 2007. Shahid Afridi's explosive batting is perfectly suited for this short form of the game. The last time he came to South Africa, he scored the eighth fastest 50 at Durban. He should be one of the players to watch at the event.

Pakistan will be hoping the pace battery of Shoaib Akhtar to get some pace and Rao Iftikhar who was Pakistan's leading wicket-taker in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 with 5 wickets to fire with some consistent bowling.

Suprise Pick
Fawad Alam

After a great Domestic season in Pakistan, Alam was chosen by the PCB Selectors after his rapid 50 and a five-wicket haul in the final of the Abn-Amro Cup was not enough to win it. An all-rounder capable of big hitting.

Scotland will be hoping to build on it's dissapointing ICC Cricket World Cup campaign in the Caribbean, although it will face difficult tests against India and Pakistan in South Africa at the ICC World Twenty20.

Scotland suffered heavy defeats to Australia and South Africa, despite some excellent cricket in some parts of those games. Among the highlights were Colin Smith's brave 51 against Australia and Majid Haq's four wickets he took in the overall tournament.

Scotland will look for inspiration from Dougie Brown, the Warwickshire all-rounder who has vast experience of Twenty20 cricket. Also Navdeep Poonia and Gavin Hamilton have experience of Twenty20 cricket in England.

Suprise Pick
Fraser Watts

Indian squad looks promising with mixture of both young ones ( Karthik, Gambhir, Tiwary etc ) and rusted ones ( Viru, Pathan, Murali Karthik ).:p Lets see how they survive this tough competition.

Keep up the fantastic works guys!

So there are the Line-ups for South Africa vs West Indies match. It looks to be a cracker of a game. There are some names in both teams. For South Africa there is L.Bosman who did very well against Pakistan in their Twenty20 Match.

We can tell you that South Africa have won the toss and elected to Bowl first. This takes us to our pitch Report with Michael Holding.

Pitch Report

Holding: Well this Pitch is favourable for the bowlers. It is extremely grassy! The weather is a bit on the cloudy side and you can expect the seamers to swing it miles. Bowl first is what Smith chose rightfully.

Let's See if West Indies can prove me wrong.

South Africa vs West Indies
1st Twenty20 Match

The First spell has been balanced. Shaun Pollock has been extremely unlucky. He has been rather disappointing. Ntini has been good with the ball. Chris Gayle took time to get to know the pitch but then exploded. He played one shot too many as he got caught. Sarwan though was brilliant with the bat. He was aggressive enough to force some changes and made captain Smith think.

Luck Came for South Africa. The Run-out to get Sarwan on his way back. Ntini did very well to pick up another wicket. Peterson was not at best at all as he was bashed in his two. This was part of Samuel's fine innings in which he did very well to get West Indies to a good score.

In the end it was good total by West Indies. One that would challenge South Africa. Will they be able to chase this total?

Fantastic work so far guys...
Wish u best of luck with rest of story...
Hopefully Pakistan do well in the 20/20 WC.:happy

great work, Ntini bowled well and not to bad a score for a bowlers surface, keep it up :)

South Africa vs West Indies
1st Twenty20 Match

SouthAfricaninnings1.jpg

The South African openers strode out towards the middle knowing what was required for South Africa to win this game. Loots Bosman and Graeme Smith went out to start the South Africa Innings.

SouthAfricanInnings2.jpg

But disaster struck for the South Africans very early on as some exceptional bowling from Daren Powell and Ravi Rampaul sent the South African top 4 back to the pavillion. After 6 overs South Africa were in deep trouble at 36/5.

SouthAfricaninnings3.jpg

However the West Indians under-estimated the South African lower order as Justin Kemp and Shaun Pollock started the recovery. As the runs continued, the pressure was mounting on West Indies skipper Ramnaresh Sarwan to get a break-through. However there was still a twist in the tale. Pollock departed as that brung Johan van der wath to the crease. But shortly after Justin Kemp also went for his brave 41. Unfortunatly van der wath and Robbie Peterson couldn't see the South Africans through as St.Lucian Darren Sammy held his nerve in the crucial last over of the Innings.

This was the final scorecard

With a win under the West Indies's belt can the South Africans bounce back in their next game against Bangladesh?

unexpected surprise i thought south africa would chase that down easily but it wasnt to be obviously.

thats really good pres guys, Great start for the Windies but the saffas will come back with a win against Banglasdesh

Yeah I expected South Africa to chase 132 down to be honest, with the strength and aggression in their batting. It didn't prove so thanks to great bowling from Daren Powell and Ravi Rampaul.

Excellent presentation guys, really good story starting here.

wow thats was a really close game, i said that the Windies had enough:p
