Story Pakistan : The High and The Lows -{The Twenty/20 WC!}--[By PC and BA and Sim]-[C07]

Excellent update guys. 131/1 isn't really too impressive from New Zealand but it should have been and was way too much for Kenya. Looking forward to the next game.

As Phil said, it was too much for Kenya to handle the Kiwi bowlers. Suprised to see Mcmillan turning as a hero with the ball though. Wonderful dominating win for Kiwis.

Fantastic presentation as usual :clap

P.M: Hi there and welcome to Durban for the Third Game of the inaugural 20-20 World Cup. We have seen average scores in the first two games, what can we expect here today. To discuss this we have three people with me, they are Sanjay Manjrekar, Rameez Raja and Aamir Sohail. Let's start off with you Sanjay. 135 and 131 are what you can call low and average scores for a 20-20 International. What do you think is the cause of this?
S.M: Well in the first game I reckon West Indies were put under pressure from the South African bowling. It was Marlon Samuels' rapid 35 off 17 balls that got them to 135. In the South Africans run chase it was quick wickets that got them. Powell and Rampaul bowled a imaculate line and length. However despite Justin Kemp's 41 they fell short.
R.R: In the 2nd match I feel the New Zealand batting was good but 131 is a low score. Yet again it was the likes of Onyango and Tikolo that restricted the Kiwis to 131. In the Kenyan run-chase I feel it was just lack of experience that got the Kenyans.
A.S: Yes I agree with Rameez. After two quick wickets the middle-order panicked and tried to hit-out every ball. Eventually they got bowled out for 82 with 5 overs left to spare.
P.M: Both these two teams had poor World Cup's especially for Pakistan after they crashed out of the World Cup in the group stages. What will be the expectations of the Pakistani fans?
R.R: This will be a big test for new coach Geoff Lawson as he has a team with experience and unexperience in this format of the game. But the sucess in the Abn-Amro 20-20 Domestic Cup will give them a boost.
A.S: Pakistani fans will want to see Pakistan reach past the group stages which is a minimum for them. To go further would be a bonus.

P.M: Right now we will take a break. When we come back we will have the Pitch Report, Toss and Team news. Stay Tuned....

P.M: Welcome back to our pre-match show. The thrid game of this inagural 20-20 World Cup will begin in round-about 15 minutes time. Here are the squads for today.

PakistanvsScotlandTeams.jpg

P.M: Well Rameez what do you think of the Pakistan squad chosen?
R.R: There will be a lot of pressure on Pakistan to perform well in this event after their disasterous campaign in the Caribbean. As we saw in the Caribbean Imran Nazir is good in this format of the game as in the domestic Pakistan 20-20 Tournament he led Sailkot Stalians to victory. Also they have the booming Shahid Afridi who honestly trust me when he gets going, he gets going!
S.M: Yes and both teams have a specialist spinner which is essential in a International 20-20 match.
A.S: Majid Haq showed what he is made of when he performed very well in the Caribbean. I think if Scotland put their mind to it, they may well cause an upset today.
P.M: Right thanks very much for your views guys, now Sir Ian Botham is down in the middle with the pitch report.

S.I.B: Thanks Pommie. Do you know everytime i ever come to Durban it's always windy. Anyway the pitch is flat as a pancake but is still quite hard. It's going to be a very good day for the spinners as rough patches have continuely developed and despite the pitch being rolled on it's still there. The batsmen will have to bat very cautiously. The possibility of it raining today is round about 15-20%. If I win the toss, I would bat first.

Woah this is amazing presentation guys, this is definately worth of winning story of the month :)

nice pre-match show.

Well, I don't know if I am getting over-critical, but I honestly think.. match descriptions(1st 2 matches) are just not upto the standards you guys set up in the starting of the story.

May be, this is because the matches are auto-played.. but I still think it ain't doing full justice to your story.

Having said all that, I still think, at the moment this story is one of the best, if not the best.

any credit for the guy who made the banner? :p Backing an upset here, Scotland to win by 5 wickets...

Yes those matches were autoplayed.
Have a look at post #14.
I said:
we are doing all the matches, but only Pakistan matches are deeply looked into, all the others are autoplayed. :)

The group games are autoplayed except Pakistan's games.
The Super Eights will be deeply looked into including pre-match shows.
I hope this anwsers your question ;)

:happy Thanks for all the great comments guys :happy
