Because Asif has bowled well and they want to keep the pressure up. He doesn't really look likely to get a wicket, but he's still bowling really well. I would probably bring on Kaneria for Gul in a few overs.

Pakistan doing well, but they need to play strongly throughout all the test match. Australia is a side who can come back from a poor position like this and still score a big total and then bowl a side out cheaply.
