Pakistan v Australia in England, June-July 2010

Looking forward to this session.

No idea how Pakistan are going to go here, but I suspect that they'll have a decent first partnership 50 odd runs before a collapse..

Great to see the sun coming out as well :p

Themer added 1 Minutes and 11 Seconds later...

Pakistan will bat ok, our bowers arent that experienced in these conditions.

They're more experienced that the Pakistan batsmen. Two hadn't played outside Pakistan before this tour let alone on a seaming swinging pitch.

Great bowling job by Pakistan! Honestly, I prefer Asif to Amir but this innings, all three have bowled superbly with Amir being the pick. We really shouldn't be thinking along the lines of 200+. Our batsmen should set themselves up for atleast 300. Otherwise it could be like Sydney. It's also good to see the sun coming up! :)

So far our bowling is awful, I dont expect us to bowl Pak out for nothing, but most likely between 180 and 300. Leeds tends to be consistent for most days too so it could be a short test like in 2000 vs WI.

Pakistan might try to knock these runs off quickly - 10/0 in 2 overs, although Hilfy did give Butt a few runs.

I think Hilfy is trying way too hard and thus losing accuracy. Ofcourse the idea of just defending 88 runs would be alien to these bowlers and it would be interesting to see how they cope. So far, the signs aren't too good for Australia but this attack has never been consistent enough to destroy opposition. My main worry (as is the case with all Paki supporters) is that when our batting is in 'collapse mode' it doesn't matter how badly the others bowl, we get out. 300, please make a minimum of 300!

If the sun has come that's good news for Pakistan.

I don't understand really why Ponting wanted to bat in overcast conditions.

The pitch is not very difficult to bat on, he thought that the batting would get much easier if they survive the first session. His idea was right, the execution from his batting lineup...not so much.

Pakistan going at over 6 an over, impressive.

But we must keep going, bat all day today, and most of tomorrow so Aamer gets a good rest - when he's well rested it's clearly evident he is most effective.

Steve Waugh loved to bowl first, he always thought it was more aggressive, sometimes its the right thing to do for sure. Pakistan have a suspect batting lineup, their strength is the bowling so why not do what the opposition least wants to do? If you bat first in these conditions you really have to expect to get rolled at some stage. Our batting has collapsed a lot of times over the past 18 months, some disastrous collapses too, we have a few guys who seem to be very picky as to when they make a big score.

I am just seeing on the scorecard that Umar Amin grabbed a wicket. Funny thing is that he grabbed the wicket of North, the one who wasn't expected either to grab these six wickets in the previous Test.

Lol! Pakistan showing everyone what a terrible pitch this is to have to bat on! Sorry Aussies but this is great!!:p
