Patch #2 Must Fixes

Why I'm not looking forward to the patch.

I am currently undecided as to whether I will download the patch, for one simple reason: the patch will be put into place in current careers. I would like to see less Jonty Rhodes' in the field and people with more stamina than my great grandfathers morbidly obese cat, but I, like many, have been dominating my career as a specialist spinner, and although an average of 4.55 is unrealistic and half my wickets come from the greatest catches I've ever seen, I very much enjoy being the best ever, and this is why I am unsure as to my position on patch 2. If I were to download it I would almost certainly force myself to create another career player to have the new challenge from the start, because I can't go from two years with an average of four and a half to an average of thirty plus, it wouldn't make any sense, however I have put so much work into this career and even gotten a contract from Yorkshire, how long could it be before another career player gets that opportunity, and I like being a child prodigy, soon to be the greatest of all time, because it does what I want from video games, it lets me step out of reality and into a world where I can do things I couldn't otherwise. The only other point that I can think of is that I like to play a lot of casual matches, and I would want to be able to play with as much realism as possible and not be bowling Bradman for under thirty every time. That's why I'm undecided as to whether or not I will want to download the patch for a while.

But also won't you get you get more satisfaction by actually "earning those wickets"?

Like you I'm a spinner in my career and tear all the batsmen up, I get the occasional wicket which I've really earned,the rest you get because the ai plays ridiculous shots.

I get no enjoyment from countless wickets at mid on/off, and my average/strike rate means nothing to me because of this.

In my career obviously the catches at mid on feel cheap - but equally I think they replace wickets I think I should be getting via edges, especially if the bowling fatigue issue wasn't there.

I'm not rolling sides for 20 - so while I really like getting wickets with bowled and LBW to really feel like I've earnt them, I just feel like the game denies me enough wickets through other issues, that on balance I don't mind.

Run outs are less so - especially when it's the last ball of the over and the AI seems to have an obsession with having the batsman keep strike - even if it's a new batsman and there's someone well set at the other end. Similar to that, they seem to also play more bad shots on the last ball of the over, again seemingly to be able to keep strike.

This all works on the assumption that the patch #2 will "fix" everything. More likely there will be small improvements but it will still require more tweaking.

If they can make bowling to be as hard but as satisfying as batting we are on to a real winner: bowling is rather tedious at the moment as you know you are going to run through sides, especially as a spinner....

That is a burning issue.

Would be nice to have some AI declaration intelligence looked at. Why we're still batting on the morning of day 4 of 4 with a lead of 500+ I'm really not sure...

Yeah they usually wait till one o clock then give the other guys a few hours.....must be something to do with not being arsed to bowl until after a good lunch.

agreed, however I'd certainly be happy even if they just made a copy of certain grounds and renamed it (eg. using Bradman Oval and renaming it for different grounds in county cricket or MCG and just renaming it SCG, Gabba, WACA, etc). TBH, its not about the ground, its about the game.

You do know you can edit all team homegrounds right? Even for career mode.
