Patch 3 Requests/Wishlist

Do you think that friction issue is at all grounds?

And what level are you playing on?

I like the way the friction is and I am playing at a different venue each game switching between pro and am, but I may not have visited the ground you use frequently.

After playing a lot of Fifa with its icy ground friction this is refreshing to me.

Name a ground you have the issue with and I will play there tonight to test it.

I'm playing after a long time so sticking with Pro difficulty atm.

The last few matches I played were on the Adelaide.

I don't agree i can hit 4's with just use of the sticks on legend... You really have to get everything spot on tho footwork/timing/right shot for the ball for it to go for 4. Sometimes it slows alot in the last 3rd of the out field but i think it's okay how it is.

When you get everything spot on the ball still barely reaches the boundary. And it happens mainly on the off-side because with pull shots on the leg side the ball stays on the ground for much lesser time compared to drives, thus the friction doesn't get to play it's part. This excessive friction pretty much breaks the realism.

I agree that with this change taking 1's and 2's have increased a little but on the cost of realism.

I believe the friction needs to be reduced just a little so that well timed shots race to the boundary.

The best thing will be when we are able to edit the pitch and ground qualities ourselves or for there to be sliders: would be great being able to produce our own wickets!

True. Even if they don't provide sliders but open up their gameplay for modding, a scene can develop like Cricket 07.

Who knows I might take time out from my currently busy schedule and return to gameplay modding after all these years.

NGP maybe? :P

Yeah a lot of good work was done with modding C07 gameplay......Ross has said that they want to open things up for modding......we first await patch three however that might already contain a number of these things.....I think we are still a little away from patch three though....

Yes I remember Ross saying that. The current process of changing even the kits is just too tedious. Hopefully Patch 3 will bring some real changes to AI batting and field settings.

After playing this nightly since it came out on xbox one I really hope they can patch in letting us pick our bowling meter choice independent of difficulty.

I would like to use the am meter in pro or veteran difficulty levels.

There are some times where I would like to just relax and play on pro level without having to constantly fuss about nailing the timing meter.

It just seems odd to me that on pro or veteran I could pick an amazing spin bowler on India but only get his RPM's up to 300 because I just missed hitting that mini pie slice of a release zone. Meanwhile on all modes the CPU bowlers have perfect footwork every time and just edge past the popping crease never hurling a no ball. I have seen cpu wides, never seen a CPU no ball.

The AI batting is batter on pro than AM and I want that challenge but the cost of having to use those meters is off putting at times.

So to add this and re-iterate from a previous post;

Let us choose bowling meter independent of skill level choice
Let us select an independent bowling and batting difficulty level
Let us select footwork on or off

My perfect gaming set up dream...Veteran CPU batting, Pro cpu bowling, footwork on, Am meter for user bowling

A tiny thing, but please make the bowling scorecard display correctly. Bowlers should be displayed in the order in which they first bowl, not the batting order.

Good point re pitches. I've hit so many balls quite well (ie. timed) and watched it race to the boundary...only for it to visibly slow and stop! wtf!!!

One thing that needs to be adjusted again is the AI fielders hitting the wicket. Its ridiculous. Almost every time a fielder throws the ball back it'll hit the wickets. I know this is the first version of DB cricket however some of the fielding abilities is just out of this world eg. fielders that can stop a ball whilst running away from the wicket, only to throw it back with force and accuracy to hit the wicket spot on...time and time again. I can live with it though compared to other things that should be fixed.

Its funny, they have all the wicket hitting animations in and I havent come the least bit close to getting the cpu out while they are running.

Yeah they have gotten me when I bork the control input...

But surely the cpu should make a mistake running here and there.

Whilst we're on the subject....the Qld Bulls defeated the TAS Tigers by an Innings and 50 runnings. Qld batted first and scored 320 then TAS scored 149 and 121. In my 2 seasons of Shield cricket I haven't come across this yet. Heck, I've even helped our side to 500+ a number of times...and yet on Day 4 we're left with 250 runs to win. Eh? thats usually because the other team bats twice and scores something like 350 and 400 runs in two days. :) Don't know about you guys but teams facing a mammoth first innings deficit do tend to crumble and be out for the mid 100s.

The simulation logic needs to be adjusted to allow a capitulation of a batting side. If its there I certainly haven't seen it yet.

yeah but I understand you can only do this upfront ie. before you start a career? I'm already almost 3 years into my career...so I'm not going to start from scratch. Its annoying to say the least but something I can live with I guess.

How many of you feel the Ground friction is awfully high?

Even perfectly timed Ground shots don't reach the boundary 4/5 times. To actually hit a four you need to use an aerial shot.

How many of you agree with me?
Sorry I don't. I think it's well balanced. But if it has to do something with difficulty than I am not sure, as I play on lower difficulty levels and get my ground shots reaching boundary many times.
