Derby County Manager reacted to recent comments following his side's shock 3-1 victory at Spurs on the opening day:

"Well of course I was delighted after the result on Saturday, it's not an easy place to go to, and a very good team, and even I was surprised, and yes admitedly I was hoping for a point really, although victory wasn't ruled out, as an athelte you have to push yourself and set yourself as high as possible in order to suceed. I have been disapointed though, how little credit and even criticism of the match though. Not enough has been made of this terrific performance, but more of the poor performance of Tottenham. I was delighted with an amazing start by our lads, and whether the other team put in a performance isn't our problem. We play to our best and well to beat them away 3-1 is a great effort anyway you put it. However, despite doing great on Saturday, we still need to keep our feet on the ground, they still need to work hard as there are another 37 tough games in this season."
