Bolton sneak victory over Portsmouth

Bolton Wanderers edged to a 1-0 win over Portsmouth at Fratton Park in the first ever match of the Planetcricketised Premiership on Saturday lunchtime.

El Hadji Diouf scored what would be the winning goal after just 26 minutes. Diouf goes down in history as the first ever scorer in the Planetcricketised Premiership.

The game was overshadowed by a bust-up between the teams late on which resulted in 4 red cards - 3 for Bolton and 1 for Portsmouth. Suspensions have not been enforced by The FA, they have instead left it to the clubs themselves to discipline their players.

Sammi Hyypia, Portsmouth's loan signing from Liverpool, was injured in the last moment but will be available for the next fixture.
