Post your questions about the game here!

So possibility for downloading it this week??:yes

People have until the 28th to supply their teams - it will be very shortly after that.

Also I do hope that when the AI rejects the single, it shouts a loud 'NO' so that I am aware he has rejected the single?

Indeed, he won't just not run he will put up his hand and yell - when you cancel a run you also yell.

Is there going to be run outs like If the batsman hits a straight drive and the bowler touches the ball and it went on to hit the other end of the stumps where if the non-striker is not with in the crease.

This would occur but I wouldn't call it a feature as much as it is just a rule.

Can we able to edit or create the Team Kits (Jersey, tracks) ?

You can create the kits but cannot edit the logo's at this point. We have included 100's of logos including the unicorn you see as my avatar.

Will you answer stupid questions all the way up until release date, or will you go insane long before that happens? No names mentioned of course :p

I am more worried about the serious ones! At this rate, there won't be any surprises left for us by the time we get the game!

It only behaves "abnormally" (well, really "normally") when a crack/rough spot is hit.

:)

Oh My God.

That sounds great, but just say you need one run off the last ball to win a game, will the ai be intelligent to know it is worth the risk even if a run is not on? It would be frustrating if he shouted no to stop a wicket when he should try to win the
game

Such attention to detail!!!!!

I agree....and now I would not be asking any questions!!!!!!!!

Rest of the stuff should be left as a surprise and something we should discover when we play the game!!!!! Else it will just feel like 'been there done that' ;)!!!

No more gameplay related queries from me!!!!

Good question!!!!! I believe Ross did say it will be dependent on the attributes of the player. So, say, you are Lance Klusner and the non-striker is Alan Donald....it wont really be realistic at all if he accepts your call and goes for the run when all you need is one run to win...or will it ;)

Is it too early to discuss bowling mechanics? How will we be able to control the seam, swing and spin on the ball? Also how will you incorporate reverse swing into bowling with respect to condition of the ball? Can the fielders tamper (legally) with the ball?

----------

I asked since Ross seems to be in a generous mode :D

I agree too. Ross is almost being too helpful answering questions, he's definately got everyone very excited. This game seems to be ticking all the boxes, only seems one thing remaining for me, that's gameplay and we won't know if that's great too until we've played the game for a week or two.

No doubt they will be running as soon as possible in that circumstance (I would see it as a bug in the AI if they didn't).

There will be plenty of surprises :)

It is too early to explain bowling and batting. I will discuss these in detail much closer to the release. (Also fielding of course.)

I thought so. My only concern is that all the previous game have generally ignored bowling and gamers have largely autogenerated the innings to enjoy batting only. That is half the fun gone for me and I am sure for many others. I am sure Bigant is giving the bowling its due share in their game.

Creeping up while the bowler is running in?

How do you find the bowling in BLIC2005? To me it's the best bowling experience in a cricket game to date.

BLIC 2005 system was good but unfortunately the AI batsmen did not have enough intelligence to cope with what the player had the freedom to do with the ball. The bowling mechanics of BLIC 2005 were definitely the best.

IIRC the problem with BLIC was that you could swing the ball round corners from the start and turn it square. There was no sense of getting a wicket with the ball that moved slightly. Most bowlers could also swing it in both directions.
I love bowling; best bit of any cricket game for me which is why computer AI and how they react to your delivery is just as important as what you can do. In IC10 there was a formula of bowl three one way and the batter timing window decreases when you bowl the fourth one differently which is a nice idea but a bit too clunky still imo.

Based on the info we have received from Ross....bowling 'might' be similar to this:

- You pick the seam position at the start of the runup. The seam position will determine whether you wanna bowl an outswinger or inswinger (this will be interesting though, as the seam position of a swinging delivery is different to that of a cutter)
- You time the release of the ball, based on which the length of the ball will be determined, i.e. if you release it late it will be pitched shorter, while if you release it early, it will be fuller. Though if these mechanics are used, I have no idea how your would determine the direction of the ball.

Both the above points are based on the statements made by ross, that the delivery will be made based on the decisions you take before the runup and at the time of the delivery. However, whatever BigAnt may come up with in the final game, I think their approach towards bowling is terrific and has the capability of adding depth and learning curve to bowling, and thus making it more fun!!
