Pro Evolution 2008!

Dont know which reviews your looking at but the metacritic average after just 3 reviews is 8, which hardly "sucks".

I'll eat my words, this games really good it's gone back to the PES I know I mean that demo was like a different game compared to this gameplay is so sweet great link up moves, nice chip through balls its all good!

Still dont quite think it's a simulation of football but a bloody brilliant game...

The only thing that really pisses me off about PES is the refereeing! They're terrible!! Biased SOBs. If wasn't in debt, I would have paid them off first.

As for the AI. They really give you a challenge. They tighten up at the back and find spaces in my defense. That little lob pass over my defenders is killing me.

Last time I ever order anything off Amazon, it took them a day to get off their fat arses and post it.

The reviews of the game for the PlayStation 3 are very mixed at the moment. Some say it is very good, better than expected, others say they are disappointed with it and there are some glaring issues with bugs and glitches.

Due to this, I am renting it before I think about buying it. I am interested to see if I notice these bugs and glitches and whether or not Konami have shaken off the foreign feeling which is what is dragging the series down so far.

Heres my thoughts....

Right been playing this all day and heres my thoughts.

I'll keep it breif basically I think that this game (gameplay wise) is PES in it's prime in the PS2 days. Reason I think that is because as a whole this edition seems pretty bodged up in many ways theres nothing really special about it. It just has the great gameplay were so used which makes us over look these small things not complaining or anything but these are my thoughs.

I also think KONAMI purposly made a weak effort with this game they could have made it brill but choose not to, reason I say that is they've released another half hearted copy but then befor it got released they started feeding as all this waffle about 'PES2009 Overhaul' so it looks like next year will be the year.....hopefully...

I still feel it's not a complete game....

It wasn't available to rent so we bought it for ?39.99 for PlayStation 3. A lot has changed since my last PES game, and for the better, some of the gameplay animations are a bit wooden, but I have had more excitement out of this in the last half an hour than I have in a month of FIFA.

My only match, a friendly at the Konami Stadium, finished like this:

Newcastle United* 3-4 Tottenham Hotspur

*user controlled team

That included a penalty kick awarded after the goalkeeper tripped Dimitar Berbatov with his arms, and an own goal after a Paul Robinson fumble(:p).

I love this game so far. It still has a foreign feeling, but it isn't so prominent.

You are still trying to tell me that you aren't rich:p

BTW: Sounds great, half hour play and already better then FIFA;)
