Good to hear that from people who have played the game.
For Punk and Lee to enjoy the game after previous comments about other PES games and the demo, I believe you that the game has improved since the demo.
I will ask for the game for Christmas if I can last that long on other games .

Lol hehe, well it is a amazing game, I wouldnt go as far as saying it's a big triumph and a step forward in football gaming. I think it's the good old PES were used to and that makes us happy.

Apart from that it's nothing special but it perfects what its good at (or nearly perfects)...

Just got it on PC and i'm loving it. What i like about it is that its all new. It's different from the previous Pro Evo unlike fifa 08. The EPL is disapointing that they have no rights to kits and names but a patch will fix that.

Still on holiday until Wednesday but will be getting this on the way home from the airport. Really looking forward to playing it, i?ve heard some cracking things about it. Once i?ve had a few days of playing it i have to play some of you lot.

Has anyone checked out the ML yet? Or is the football gameplay so good that you're all having fun just playing one off matches!!

As far as patches go: www.gamingaccess.com . They've already posted option files (I think they sort the kits/badges issue), sound patches and ball replacements, among other things! What I love about PES patches is when they release kit/stadium server, you'll be able to have unlimited kits and assign each team their own unique stadium. It adds so much to a Premiership season when you actually get to visit all the grounds!

I'm ordering it today - £17.99 PC version from www.gameplay.co.uk and, if Royal Mail have sorted themselves out, it should be with me by Thursday...

Heres my thoughts....

Right been playing this all day and heres my thoughts.

I'll keep it breif basically I think that this game (gameplay wise) is PES in it's prime in the PS2 days. Reason I think that is because as a whole this edition seems pretty bodged up in many ways theres nothing really special about it. It just has the great gameplay were so used which makes us over look these small things not complaining or anything but these are my thoughs.

I also think KONAMI purposly made a weak effort with this game they could have made it brill but choose not to, reason I say that is they've released another half hearted copy but then befor it got released they started feeding as all this waffle about 'PES2009 Overhaul' so it looks like next year will be the year.....hopefully...

I still feel it's not a complete game....

What do all you guys praising it make of this? @Punk Sk8r: is this the PS2 version? And would you say that it's better than PES 6 overall?

The only thing that really pisses me off about PES is the refereeing! They're terrible!! Biased SOBs. If wasn't in debt, I would have paid them off first.

As for the AI. They really give you a challenge. They tighten up at the back and find spaces in my defense. That little lob pass over my defenders is killing me.

The refs don't break the game though, do they? Are they worse than PES 6, or more or less the same?

Think of Ade Akinbiyi when he first joined Leicester ages ago. Now think of Fernando Torres. There's your answer.

I have the 360 version and yes I would say it's better than the 360 PES6. What I mean is its just like the old PES games where we'd buy it every year and get really stuck into it.

Apart from that nothing else is jawbreaking and had they not taken us to the good old PES days again this game would have been really rubbish considering it is so watered down...

Just small things like edit mode is nowhere near what it should be, really laggy replays, laggy online (although the online lag will be fixed, not sure about replay lag..) no PES shop so you cant buy things for edit mode, few other things that you'll notice too....

Still despite all that it's worth the money and I'm happy with it, what gets me is demo replays weren't laggy but these full game ones are...apparently some people say if your cache is too full it can effect the game but I wasn't getting laggy replays for the demo so doubt it's because is my cache is full...

The refs do my absolute nut in. Last night I gave a foul away for comitting the cleanest tackle you will ever see! Then much to my anoyance about 5 mins later, Ronaldinho bursts through on goal, rounds the keeper and in doing so is brought down by him....and what does the ref do....buggar all!! I was absolutely fuming! Its garbage at times the ref system!!
