Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

Point noted. And just in case anyone misses the link I posted on the last page, here it is again;

However, PES 2009 will be the daddy of football games. The demo is amazing and it's been confirmed that it's not even the final version.

Also for those of you who will be eager to download the option file to get everything sorted, the boffins have already made a start;

If the option file can fix all the kits up to that standard then FIFA pretty much has nothing going for it in comparison to this year's PES. Good times.

Point noted. I buy my games on the demos I play and the demo of PES i've played is superb. I've got a lot of enjoyment out of FIFA and it's a credit to football gaming, but over the past couple of days i've been playing the PES demo more. The shooting is absolutely bang on and one of the small gripes I have with FIFA is the shooting. It's far too easy to sky shots miles wide or over the bar. Now fair play if i'm using a Coventry player or something, but when i'm using a player like Lampard and I literally tap the shoot button and the ball flies out of the ground, it's ever so slightly unrealistic. And again let me stress that I do play on manual so don't mention that.

If you like it, that's fine, everyone is different, but it is wrong to claim that PES is the "daddy of football games" because that isn't true any more. On the PC and PS2 it probably is but on Xbox 360 and PS3 FIFA 09 is miles ahead.

If you don't like it then you don't like it. Simple. All you have to do is not buy the game which is something you decided not to do a long time ago. I don't see the problem. Just let us enjoy PES because if the demo is anything to go by then i'll be enjoying it a hell of a lot. Long live PES; the daddy of football gaming. It had it's blip last year, but it's back on form now.

I would argue with you Rob but I would inevitably lose since you have the special talent of always being right whereas I am merely a biased fanboy. Plus, my opinion is just that - opinion whilst yours is plain fact.

Oh, and if you go looking for faults, you'll find them.

I can claim what I want. I think PES is the daddy of football gaming. If you disagree with my claims you can easily ignore it or just leave the thread. It's hilarious how easily it winds you up when someone dares question FIFA and argue against PES being awful. There's more minds in the world than yours Rob.

I've never said my opinion is fact ;).

Also, I don't go looking for faults, if they stand out and hit me in the face though then I notice them.

Daddy of PS2 and PC football games only.

I finally got round to playing the demo one of my mates houses, and all my suspicions about the game being dated, robotic, mechanical etc were all true.

Pretty clear you had your own very clear ideas about the game before you even played it Rob. I call that looking for faults.

It was actually Will who criticized you for it. Now that is a fact.

Anyway now that Rob's put his dummy back in we can get back to the matter at hand. Anyone other than myself and Pingusten tried that Become a Legend trick for the demo? It's class. It's obviously not as polished as Be a Pro because it's a hack, but it's certainly promising ahead of the full version's release. I tried it with Michael Carrick and it really is good. It made me realise the better awareness of the AI controlled players around me; things such as attacking runs seem to be massively improved from 08. I can't wait for Friday.
