Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

You can choose to, or you can skip to when/if you come off the bench.

Well I have gone on a 22 year Master League on PES6 :D

As for the R2 calling, it's included on the Controls tab on the menu when you pause. Can't remember the exact section.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I still have my PES3 Master League save file and still go on it from time to time. Oh those were the days.

Just heard some weird commentary. Drew 1-1 away to Fulham thanks to a last minute glancing header from Lampard, still the only player to score for me.

At the end of the game Champion was saying something then Lawrenson said 'Jon im off, my brain is empty'.

Crikey, no wonder they didn't put commentary in the demo..

Still, its always been terrible. I usually get a good chant pack and turn it up nice and loud, much more immersive than Lawrenson stating the obvious.

Lots more injury's in this version, i have had quite a few already.

Ooh, one thing I would like you to confirm is the stamina. Last year you'd end up resting players after 2 games as they were knackered. Has that been fixed? I did notice in the demo players gained stamina at half time, but obviously you can't gauge how they change match to match.

Sorry for the late reply, got an early night, for an early morning of Pes.

Its better, but not perfect. Best to run your master league level on very easy, then players can play a steady amount of games without needing a rest.

I tried a master league on normal, and after one game some players had fatigue of around 10, bit less on easy and around 1-4 on very easy. So i decided that very easy was the most realistic and chose that.

Also, if you sub a player off at half time, after you click second half, pause straight away and go into substitutions, sub the player with most fatigue off and next game he will have 0 fatigue and maximum energy, a little tip that also worked in Pes 08.

The_gas added 6 Minutes and 36 Seconds later...

Oh one more thing, Cech is a goal keepeing machine, he has made some unbelievable point blank saves against the cpu.

This is absolutely brilliant. I'll post a full review later, but this is just top quality football this is. I can definitely confirm it as the king of football again this year. Gonna go and see what Become a Legend is like now.

Haha, Its halerious to read proper out and out fanboys talk up this game. PES 08 was shocking, obviously the leap to next-gen isn't possible for Konami, as 09 is, as usual a slight tweak on the previous game.

The "graphical overhaul," that was mentioned is pretty much nothing, and game play issues range from players being robotic and wooden, to them only having 8 directions to go in.

FIFA obviously now have the leadership over football, which is disappointing as PES used to rule on the PS2.

FIFA has exactly the same amount of directions as PES, its only the animation of the trick stick which hides this.

I would also like to know why you find it so hard to believe that people are enjoying a game you dont like. I prefer this too FIFA, by a long shot, as EA are still refusing to port there proper game to the PC. Does that make me an idiot?

I enjoy playing PES, as do a lot of others. So leave it that way.

That was almost the exact post I expected from you - even 6 months or so ago I knew that would be your reaction when you played the game, just because it's PES .

PES is the king of robotic, automated and arcadey football, not realistic football. It depends what you're into I suppose.

I'm sticking with you, for two reasons,

1. Its safer in numbers, apperently.
2. Everything you've said regarding PES in that post, is 100% true.

No, pingusten, I'm not finding it difficult to grasp people enjoy this game. I find it difficult to take Konami on, much like i do EA when it comes to Cricket games.

Anyway, try Vertical Camera, and select to follow the player rather than the ball with assisted player change, its pretty cool. I hope to move up to player cam for the first person view at some point.
