there are retired players in there (vaughn, a claim of collingwood) and a claim of a news of the world reporter. there is no mention of it being just players. the set up is obviously related to English cricket of recent/current times so there is no reason the current coach would not be included.

It's not a point of following me, it's a point of coming together to get rid of one of them. As far as I see it it's the only logical thing to do. I'm happy switching my vote to Colin if people feel that he is more suspicious, but I'll equally keep it on User.

Well yea I have been reluctant to vote for one of the three simply because the one we target might actually be telling the truth. I guess we need to take a risk at some stage though and if theres one person who the town can trust I guess its you.

I'm going for User in the three investigation roles. His claim was after someone who mentioned that he can be a 'tracker'. I believe that Smurf is town-aligned, hence he's the prime suspect for me in the three.

Interesting, so was yours, as both I and I think it was Colin mentioned there should be a doc... There's been a death every day as well, suggesting you haven't protected the right guys possibly, or are not the doc at all. Something to think about but we'll leave it for day 6.

I'd rather we lynch him than User, he hasn't been his usual self leading discussions since day 1 and his results don't convince me at all. IIRC he also said yesterday that he thought User was most likely telling the truth, and that he believed him. So why would he investigate him and not me, or someone else even? Problem is we're not going to know whether he's telling the truth or not even if we lynch him so we have no idea about whether to go after the the other of the two.

Also, in the case that both are town, it will be a lot more costly to lynch User than Colin, as the cop at this stage is less effective, as at this stage you're a lot more likely to pick out the godfather.

I've also stated several times that I consider it likely you're a cop. I didn't investigate ste whom I was most suspicious of as he made a post about how he was happy to be investigated (which was either a bluff or meant he had GF immunity).
It made sense to go for the person who I was next least sure about who was User.

I'm wondering just how many mafia there are in this game. If you have only one or two mafia but give them immunity from the tracker and cop you can sit back and watch the town lynch each other off as they go searching for the needle in the haystack.
Clearly someone who has put forward a decent claim is mafia. I should say someone "else" at this point as I'm pretty sure ste is. The question for me is who is the final mafia (or third if Smurf was one).
Might be User, might be someone else.

Regarding the doc you might have a point but you're always far less likely to protect the wrong person in a 14 player game and the people RPHKR has targeted make sense in terms of the game - Abhas, Sedition, Treva, me etc.

One thing I would ask you though is how are you so sure that you're the normal cop and not the naive one? None of your results have been useful thus far so how can you imply that you've somehow got a more important role than me?

NOTW sounds more likely to be paranoid than naive but it could be PD's satirical take on the state of journalism...
