Random Country Test Draft -- DONE. Time for comments/discussion

There are few batsmen who you would want as an opener instead of Graeme Smith: with a test average of close to 50 he proves time and time again that he is both consistent and determined in a fight but can also put the pedal down and score quickly and take a game away from a side. His height and demeanor make him a commanding sight at the crease and bowlers of all qualities know that they need to play at the limits of their ability to get him out of the way.

Of course his captaincy skills are second to none and he has lifted South Africa from a side that was always destined to be a bridesmaid to a flourishing and confident side. Who will ever forget those memorable scenes as South Africa went on to beat Australia in Australia in 2008?

His career is far from over and one is always left with a question of whether he can continue to improve his own game and at the same time be an inspirational and knowledgeable leader of a side in a phase of transition.

South Africa has produced many great batsmen and many great captains but as far as I am concerned you can't do much better than one Graeme Craig Smith.:)

Wait...doesn't Kallis stay in my draft XI? Or are we all combining to make an all time Aussie XI, SL XI, etc? :p

Ah....sorry bit unclear: I thought we are all combining to make one test team per nation. Sorry if I have got it wrong...please advise.

I think Dutchad hasn't been in a draft before.

Dutchad, you make your own best possible XI. There are 11 rounds so each of us selects 11 players. Since there are 8 players, there will be 8 teams and 88 players chosen.

Zorax got Kallis and you got Graeme Smith. That means nobody else can have those 2 players in their team.

Okay, light is slowly filtering through my thick skull and making sense. I shall remove Mr Kallis from my draft and leave him well alone in future!:p

Yeah, as Shravi said. We pick 1 player from each nation in turn, then once we've got 8 players each we go around again picking a 2nd player from England, Australia and West Indies until all 8 contestants have a full XI.

Cricketman is up.

Okay, have got it. Sorry for the mix up. Glad I got Smithy though!:)

Here's hoping next round is not Sri Lanka/New Zealand. Being last pick could really hurt there :p

Think you may be a little disappointed then Zorax :p The random order brought Sri Lanka as the 2nd country. So after SA it'll be Sri Lanka.

KP, do you already know the order we go in for each round? If you do, could you post it up? It sort of gives you an unfair advantage :p as you can build your team around that, if you know and we don't.

He only knows for the first two rounds. Round 2 is just Round 1 reversed. Round 3 will be randomly generated again.
