Random Country Test Draft -- DONE. Time for comments/discussion

Let's get through as many rounds as possible so that TGS is in an absolutely terrible position when he comes back :D. He shouldn't have signed up if he knew he was going to be away till Tuesday.

Good pick, I thought of going for him since great keeper batsmen are hard to come by, but I figured that I should probably strengthen my bowling first since there are only 3 or 4 spinners in that top tier.

Figured Id go for him since I can't think of too many other great Test keeper batsmen, and the few that there are will go fast

England is going to be so hard. So much history. Hard to choose just 2 players from such a long list.

The first page has been updated with the order for Rounds 3 and 4 plus the 2 countries picked for those rounds. Loving the way we're racing through this one!

Yeah, sorry bout that. Had the names of all the guys in the form for the Draft Generator and forgot to edit you in mate. All sorted now (Y).

Haha, all the Saffers picked I had thought about. Graeme Pollock was the batsman I had in mind, but there are very few people out there with 420 wickets to their name. What a family of cricketers, though!

And I was tempted to pick Barry Richards just to piss KP off as well :p. Couldn't justify the 4 matches however...

Well since Mark was kind enough to return the favor I have decided to go for the next best thing and take Mahela Jayawardene.

The leading Sri Lanka batsman in just about every category Jayawardene has a solid technique and cool head on his shoulders. He is also the most successful Sri Lankan captain in tests in terms of winning percentage and he seemed to play his best cricket during that time. He holds the records for most runs, most centuries, most half centuries, highest individual score (374) and shares the highest first class partnership with Sangakkara. Solid pick for my first middle order batsman.

There really wasn't much choice left so it was a good pick considering what your other options were. Jayawardene isn't all that great outside of Sri Lanka or the subcontinent but he is just so dominant in the subcontinent that it almost makes up for it. When in full flow, he's great to watch. I suppose you could have gone for their best fast bowler but there is no shortage of those. You can easily pick them up when we get to Australia, Pakistan, West Indies and England.
