Well, God-daymn!!! I was wrong and I am so glad to be wrong! Even if we go no further (and if we can avoid NZ, we can), knocking Australia out again is so, so sweet! This really has been a marvelous day, first Utd get back in the goals and then England knock the Aussies out again!

Remember lads, you are the World Champions! Today, you played like it!

I'd say England are the most likely of any of the underdogs to cause an upset.

That is likely (unless we play France, I reckon we can take them), but this win would've given the boys a colossal amount of confidence.

At least we've made the semis, that's a good showing in anyone's language.

We'll get to the final only to be beaten by the Argies Can't see us ever beating New Zealand unless their coach crashes the week before the game so i guess i'll cheer on the French.

Believe me that will be hard, still nowhere near as hard as watching England today!

Games like that make you proud to be English, our scrum was amazing, Sheridan had the Aussie prop under his spell.

And what a block by Paul Sackey to stop that try!

We were brilliant today. What a result! We completely dominated the scrum and Sackey's block was immense. Johnny's kicking wasn't up to scratch but ti wasn't that easy. The Aussies were not at their best and we took advantage. If only our football team had half the passion.

It was absolutely vital, wasn't it? It was a typical backs to the wall English performance and by getting to the semis, they've redeemed themselves for this World Cup.

I haven't got a clue who at least 90% of the players were, but that was some damn fine sport entertainment. Makes up for the disgraceful lack of Saturday football.

And it's always lovely to see Australians getting beat. That's a stone dead fact of life.

We might be a bit like the Germans in a couple of World Cups ago. They were absolutely terrible, but somehow muddled their way through to the final!

At least England weren't terrible today, quite the opposite in fact. It wasn't pretty, but it was a typical gritty tough it out performance of an England team.
