South Africa in Sri Lanka

Well played boys. Also Without Murali that is excellent.

Now anyone cannot say

No Murali = No Sri Lanka

But mr vaughn don't u think that mostly all teams paly well at home, except the baggy green ofcourse?

Well Said rocklara....

Look at the England team... same story. Only the Aussies do well overseas...

thats not true...even england are a decent team overseas. sri lanka struggle like s**t when they are not playing in the subcontinent.

england have won test series in pakistan 2-1 (2001), sri lanka 2-1 (2001) and west indies 3-0 (2004). Also the 2-0 win over bangladesh (2003), and 3-0 win over Zimbabwe (2001). England have earned a well deserved 1-1 draw in NZ(2002). So that just leaves India, Australia and South Africa. South Africa is England;s next challenge, and it promises to be an absolute cracker. England play Australia and India in 2006 away.

Buts that isnt a bad away record england have. When was the last time Sri Lanka won a test series (involving a minumum of 2 test matches) overseas? I dont think you should count the recent 2-0 win over Zimbabwe, as it was by no means a full strength Zimbabwe side. The one England played in 2001 was much stronger.

But certainly home teams have small advantages such as they are suited to the conditions, their crowd is cheering them on, they are familiar with everything etc.

yup but that does not mean, you should ONLY win at home.
I agree with you m_vaughan, playing at home only gives you a slight advantage... not meaning that you should only win at home.

playing at home only gives you a slight advantage...
It gives you a massive advantage when you play on doctored pitches, at the expense of making your team unable to win away from home
