South Africa tour of India 2019/20

What a tweaking joke this ****er Kohli is. No matter how good a batsman you are, you are pathetic as a leader. You have destroyed Indian Cricket and as a fan I will never be able to forgive you and that drunk ****er Shastri for it. Now Saha is your best wicket keeper batsman? Wow! Well done

So the poor leader in Kohli has comeback once again to haunt us. First blunder is Rohit Sharma to open the innings, another blunder is to bring back a wicket keeper batsman aged 34 when we were supposed to move on and develop a team for the future. I think Pant's exclusion can still be defended as you want to find another option for that wicket-keeper spot. But to bring back Saha is foolishness especially when you have Srikar Bharat and Ishan Kishan in the domestic arena who are very good wicket-keepers and equally capable with the bat. But I also think that someone like Kuldeep Yadav should wait for the dead rubbers at home as he is still not your preferred bowler in this format as of yet or you are free to completely move away from Ashwin. I don't think they would want to do that though as he is one of the best bowlers in the world in the longer format right now.

Kuldeep Yadav went from being our number 1 spinner to being dropped. :lol

I think that Virat Kohli shouldn't have had pointed out at him in this way if he wasn't going to back Kuldeep Yadav. It's too hard on him to sit out of the team after receiving such a complement from the Captain.

Rishabh Pant's confidence must be sky high after being dropped after two bad tests. :thumbs

I don't think that would affect his confidence at all. I think he is mentally very tough and wouldn't mind to sit out for a match or 2. But it would certainly force him to be more responsible in future. If I was on Pant's place I would've want to make sure that I perform in such a way that the team management won't even think at looking away from me. I would definitely want to be 2 steps ahead of Saha and make my own spot in the team. It also comes down to the team management to give him the right number of chances at the right time.

Now Saha is your best wicket keeper batsman?

As far as I remember Kohli have always said that India don't have a keeper that have been better than Saha in this format. Back in 2017 he went on to say that Saha is "the best keeper in this format right now". But that was 2 years earlier. There have been a big difference in these 2 years so I am very surprised that he still think the same about Saha.

Wow some people are very quick to judge. Saha has been and will always be our number 1 keeper whenever he is fit especially after Dhoni retired. I wasn't a big fan of Saha after he replaced Dhoni at test level but Kohli has always backed Saha because he is the best keeper in the country and kohli knows that. Saha's injury was significant enough to almost end his career and he needed that time off in order to get him back on the park which he got. Saha was in the squad for WI tour but something tells me he still wasn't 100% and that was the reason he wasn't picked. Yes, he did play the 4-day games with A team but something tells me that he definitely wasn't fit enough otherwise he would have been in the final 11. Also the inclusion of Saha also gives us a hint about how the pitches will behave. They will be spin friendly and Pant's keeping is not good enough yet to keep against Ashwin and Jadeja on those types of surfaces.

I can't believe I am defending that asshole Shastri here but he said that Kuldeep is our number 1 "overseas" spinner going forward after Sydney test. However, we all knew that was not going to be true and we saw that as soon as the WI series came where Jadeja played as the lone spinner. Ashwin before he got injured in both England and Australia had bowl beautifully and probably as good as I have seen him bowl in overseas condition. I still believe that if we are picking only one spinner in our test 11 anywhere outside India, Ashwin should be the first one to get the nod. If he is not performing, you go to Kuldeep and Jadeja is my third option. However if we are playing in India, then that changes because the combo of Ashwin Jadeja is lethal and therefore both of them should play and Kuldeep becomes the third option.

I think they have chosen the best team that they can with the exception of Rohit playing as an opener. This is a golden chance for Rohit but if he fails here, his test career is likely to be over.

I think Ashwin is a good call. In home conditions, he has a phenomenal record and it would be silly to make him sit on the sidelines.

I'm undecided as far as Pant goes. But perhaps very slightly think it was a harsh decision. On one hand, he has had not that many innings to improve his failures but on the other, it does feel like he needs a reality check. Very fine line between the two.

I have a bad feeling about this test series... All this media talk about easy points and how south Africa will be brushed aside since we are playing at home pitches might come to bite us back.

I just hope the team is not thinking the same way and is in full preparation for a young but tough south African side. Rohit as an opener is an experiment. But should we be doing experiments against such a major team?

We are known to be kind to young players and debutant, and are no longer good players of spin on spin friendly wickets.

I hope I am proven wrong completely

As far as I know Kohli he would look to go for the kill against the Proteas and wouldn't want to give any chance to them. It's been a long time that I am getting a feeling this time we would have flat pitches.

I have nothing absolutely nothing against Saha. I am not doubting his ability, I am just pissed at how our players are handled. Before one series, x player is your future, he fails and then y becomes your future. The constant cropping and changing and not giving anyone a good go is what has caused all the problems in Indian Cricket.

You and me both brother but that will continue as long as Shastri is there. I have said this many times before that we need someone who can challenge Kohli on his decision making and not just be a yeas man to him. However, if you do challenge Kohli, it is likely that you will lose your job as Kumble found out. That is also one of the reason why I wanted someone like Tom Moody as the head coach. He is very experienced and has worked in IPL long enough to know how Indian player and media functions. I wouldn't even minded Mike Hesson who is tactically genius and can work in background without ever having to boost about himself in media. Anyways I don't want to go on another rant about coach.

I just want to say that apart from England and India, I don't think any teams currently have the luxury of having so many good players in domestic cricket. The BCCI has all the money in the world and can provide these players with all the resources needed. However, we just need someone smart at the top who knows how to manage those resources and back players and Shastri is definitely not that person. Kohli is improving but he is still not there and therefore he needs someone with him who can do that for him.

Even though the decision making is as jumbled as it has always been with this captain-coach combo, I am honest in saying that I am happy that they're going back to Saha. Pant needs time and some hard yards in developing his game for the international circuit. He can get away with things in LOI's but for tests, a more solid wicketkeeper is a must and Saha ticks that box. Yes, Saha is not great shakes with the bat but he can play some really valuable innings with the bat when needed. Cant write him off just because he is 34.

Rohit Sharma is a one lucky B*****.I am never despise any player but for the betterment of Indian cricket want Rohit to fail in these test matches so the better candidates who opened and performed consistently in Ranjii trophy and other FC game gets a chance instead of favoritism and this overrated talent thing .i.e. giving innumerable chances to Rohit like they did in ODI cricket to succeed at the highest level.

Look KL RAHUL Has Got More Opportunity Than Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma trying to loft the ball. Dangerous signs for India this. Very soon he would throw it away now. :facepalm

50 for Sharmaji ... not without his trademark high risk shots. But a 50 nevertheless
