great thread mate. i love the fact that you havent had to jump on the animation band wagon. its great to see some quality images with a constructive base of text. very nice work mate
Thanks for your comments Leftie, Surendar, Mick and Waugh
MWaugh: Yeah there's pretty much two reasons why I can't animate, One as you said, I dont wanna use animation like everyone else is as it probably distracts the reader from the actual story. Two, I dont know how to do it

TASK MADE HARDER FOR PAKISTAN
The last recognized Pakistani batsman has fallen as the South Africans continue their challenge to the favourites. Andrew Hall provided the wicket by drawing Shahid Afridi into an expansive cover drive which created a thick outside edge. The ball sped to Jaarsvald at slip who held onto a nice catch. Pakistan are really under the pump here at the moment...

END OF DAY 1
A great day for South Africa has ended with Pakistan struggling against the constant pressure of the South African quicks. Tomorrow will be a vital day for both teams, will the Pakistani's crumble under the South African attack? Or will they stand up and take the lead of the captain and post a good score?

EARLY STRIKE FOR SOUTH AFRICA
Mohammad Sami has become the seventh victim of the innings after being caught behind off Dewald Pretorius. Sami was beaten by a near perfect ball, the leg cutter pitched on off stump, drawing Sami into playing at the ball then shaped away from the right hander. The result was a faint nick through to van Wyk who took the catch cleanly and gave the South African's the perfect start...

AKHTAR BACK IN THE PAVILLION
Shoiab Akhtar has suffered a similar fate to his counterpart Mohammad Sami after being caught behind by Wyk off Steyn's bowling. Akhtar tried to defend a ball which nipped away off the deck after pitching on middle stump. The resulting outside edge was easily taken by Wyk who has kept well with the gloves in this innings...

GUL BECOMES ANOTHER VICTIM
Umar Gul is the latest wicket in a spate of great bowling from Pretorius and Steyn. They are effectively cleaning up the tail by producing line and length deliveries that the pure batsmen would find hard to play. The keeper, van Wyk is benefiting greatly from this bowling, having taken 3 catches in the past few overs. Gul feathered one through to van Wyk after driving at a pitched up outswinger...

SOUTH AFRICAN INNINGS BEGINS
The chase for first innings points is about to begin. South Africa have a good array or talented batsmen all dreaming of selection while Pakistan have the might of Sami, Akhtar and Kaneria. This should be a great innings to watch as the two sides battle it out!
