BOWLING CHANGE WORKS FOR PAKISTAN

Abdul Razzaq has picked up Pakistan's first wicket of the tour and has set the trend early with some good tight and clever bowling in his first over. Razzaq had a sharp appeal turned down against Dippenaar on his first delivery then had the opener playing and missing on 2 occasions before finally creating the outside edge only for it to be put down at gully. Razzaq's luck changed for the better when he pitched a beautiful leg cutter on Dippenaar's off stump, drawing the youngster back into playing at the ball which shaped away from him. A thin outside edge resulted which was snapped up by Sami fielding at slip...

N.McKenzie 1(1)*
A.Bacher 9(34)*
B.Dippenaar 9(25)
SFA: 1/21 (10)
South Africa A trails by 241 runs
9 wickets in hand

S.Akhtar 0/9 (5)

SAMI TAKES A CONFIDENCE BOOSTING WICKET

Mohammad Sami looks like he is on the verge of returning to his very best after taking the wicket of Neil McKenzie. Sami had been bowling very well before the eventual wicket came, testing the batsmen in every possible way before eventually finding a gap in McKenzie's defences. The top order batsmen tried to drive a full pitched ball away through mid off but was beaten by the shape away from him and the speed. A thin outside edge was created and flew to Kamran Akmal who took a great catch diving away to his right...

BACHER CAUGHT SHORT OF HIS GROUND

The Pakistan's are beginning to break ahead of the South African's after another wicket has fallen. This time it was Bacher, the South African was caught short of his ground in dubious circumstances as it was unclear whether of not his bad had reached the crease line. Normally a decision like this would sway towards the batsman but this time it was the fielders celebrating, not the batsman...

its delicately poised at the moment. hopefully the middle order can build but if they pakistani quicks continue to break through then it could be a very interesting second innings for both teams

WICKETS CONTINUE TO FALL

Yet another wicket has fallen in the wake of the Pakistani's as they continue their push towards an early victory. Abdul Razzaq again claimed the vital wicket of a top order batsman, this time de Bruyn was the unlucky one. The all rounder was no match for a ball that nipped in after pitching and shattered the top of his off stump, good line and length bowling is prevailing over speed and aggression on this pitch...

TEA DAY 2

Pakistan are pressing their claim early with good bowling from Razzaq and Sami. South Africa are really struggling under the pressure of quick bowling. It will be interesting to see how they respond...

WYK AND JAARSVELD EASE THE PRESSURE
Some good steady batting after the tea break has seen South Africa A's hopes of a good total rise considerably. Both Wyk and Jaarsveld are playing confidently, something which has lacked from the other batsmen so far. Now the pressure switches over to Pakistan, who need to break this partnership to keep their advantage...

WYK TRAPPED LBW

The Pakistani's are now ready to pounce on a handy lead after removing van Wyk for 24. Wyk tried to pull a short ball from Shahid Afridi away through mid wicket but was beaten by low bounce and was hit on the thigh bad right on the top of off leg stump. This is a huge breakthrough for the visitors as it now has the lower order exposed with a lead of almost 100 runs...
