South African Tour of India 2010

He bats down the order, whenever he got a century, he didn't have the chance.

But it doesn't mean its more difficult.

Ok fine what about Katich?

M.Jayawardene bats around the same position as Hussey and has scored many doubles, so i don't see what's your point.

Selectors don't seem to like rusty for some reason. He should be in at least the odi squad.

Thats disappointing, since surely Theron is a better bowler than Tsotsobe. He seems like a token "black guy" selection.

War added 7 Minutes and 12 Seconds later...

Not necessarily. In fact, opposition countries have started preparing batting tracks in their home grounds whenever India come because they dont want to face the prospect of the Indian seamers running through their own batting lineup. India's seamers (Zaheer, Ishant, Sree) love pitches with juice in them and come to their own on such wickets. So Aus and SA are not likely to smoke India in their backyard. Our last tour to Australia was a very memorable one, our last tour to Australia got our first win there at Jo'burg and the rest two that we lost, we were not smoked at all.

Haaa where did you get that information that teams are preparing batting because they dont want to face the India pace attack??

Outside of Khan, India's pace attack is nothing to write home about. I agree that they could be very dangerous in helpul conditions as they showed in England 2007 & as you mention in Jo'Burg 06/07. But chances of an Indian pace attack troubling Australia & South Africa in their own conditions, is far less likely than the AUS & SA pace attacks owning India's batting line-up in AUS & SA conditions.

Can't see IND winning in South Africa & Australia in the near future at all.

How do we know if they never get a chance to play? :sarcasm

So does anyone deserve the chance ahead of Bhajji? Who would you try rather?
I do not think currently there are many spinners in domestic cricket who can perform at this level. Chawla is so young and He needs to get some domestic experience before making to international level. You can not push these young players to play Test matches. India must wait before they develop good enough temperament and skills. I am not blindly biased about Bhajji but sadly you need him in every single test match India plays at home.

Harbhajan post match when asked about his excellent match winning spell "Thanks to all media and Zorax, they created sensational stories that i am not bowling, i m not doing this and that"

Edited the bold part :D

Congrats to India, they surely showed us how to make batting look easy on that pitch - which it probably was, we just played terribly.

Having said that I think if India ended up not winning the game they should have held their heads in shame since we basically wrapped the game up as a present and gave it to them with the amount of errors we made. Poor bowling, elementary catching and the worst batting collapse in recent times - we basically went from being favourites to trying to stay in the game within a timeframe of a teabreak.
Don't see what type of shame, as only rain bring this match to nail biting match. We could have done it on 4th day and with no pressure.

 :laugh

Ojha to play?

Ojha has not even been selected. Only Amit Mishra and R Ashwin (Tamil Nadu off spinner) are the two specialist spinners selected in the squad. Most likely, Mishra and Jadeja will be the two spinners playing.

Super article about the crowd at Eden Gardens and why the rotation policy should be thrown out and a radical change must be brought in
The rot in rotation | India Cricket Features | Cricinfo.com

Basically what aditya123, me and a few others have been saying.

It is a nice article friend, but nothing gonna change because of too much politics in cricket(Why the heck is this damn politicians are in our cricket board?).

This is not an issue of politics :doh. Seriously, the politics excuse is getting stale. Not everything is political (with a negative connotation, that is). It's a wonderful idea to rotate the grounds used, it just hasn't panned out as expected. It's great in theory, just not so great in practice.

The BCCI are not quick enough to realize which centres provide the best crowds for test cricket. Nagpur, Ahmedabad, etc should be really removed as test centres. Some say Mohali should be done too, but Mohali has probably the most sporting wicket in the country. Maybe Mohali should only host games with top sides like Australia and South Africa.

I am pretty sure that test cricket will really do well in India if tests are scheduled only in the big centres.
