Lolz!
Coming back to the game, I would`nt worry too much about the batting. We were missing two key players and that was bound to cause us headaches against such a good attack. Sehwag and Tendulkar have continued their good form. Gambhir has failed after a long time. Vijay and Badri have both showed some promise at in this game and I would`nt be too harsh on them. Badri is the more defensive and compact of the two while Vijay seems to have more strokes and the time to play them. I can see them fitting into VVS and Dravid`s positions in the future.
As regards Saha, you can`t blame the young man at all. He would`nt have known that he would be playing as late as the pre-match warmups. I don`t think he`ll ever be playing as a specialist batsmen in the near future, even for KKR in T20s.
I cannot understand the way Dhoni approaches the game sometimes. He totally killed the momentum today. Had he kept turning the strike over, it would`ve put more pressure on the South Africans. Even then, I feel we have showed decent amount of character in the second innings and I expect us to score big at Eden Gardens. Another factor at the Eden will be the crowd who`ll definitely turn up in huge numbers. Eden when full can be quite intimidating for the opposition.
Finally, if VVS does not get fit in time for the second test, I`d just play a bowler in place of Saha who has just been like a specialist fielder in this game. Although most of us would like the super-offie to be dropped, I don`t see that happening. The most likely change would be Ojha for Mishra and from what I hear, Sreesanth is fit and might replace Sharma.
Personally, I feel Zaheer, Ishant and Sreesanth and Mishra would be just right . I don`t see the need for two spinners as it puts too much workload on the pacers who are playing if we lose the toss. Three seamers would mean that one pacer is fully fresh on most occasions and can bowl at full pelt.
Well played SA. Steyn has been the difference between the two sides, definitely a beast of a bowler.
And to all you guys who were after Sehwag`s blood calling him arrogant during the Bangladesh series, here is what the guy had to say about Steyn ,"Dale Steyn is the best bowler I have ever faced. He bowls outswinger and can also bowl the inswinger. The way he got Murali Vijay out .. it was a fantastic delivery." That was very gracious of him. This is how the guy is. He speaks the way he bats.
